The lines have become blurred as in "Grey Areas", sometimes the left uses some of the right's platforms and vice-versa, it's hard to tell nowadays who is sciving who (was that the word nihil?)
I agree with cemetric, if you want to start a debate on some of the heavy hitters, come prepared....
I only just started to get O'Reilly on cable, and at first, after hearing second hand info on this guy, thought he might be a bit of a nutcase, as it is, some of his rants make sense and some are so off the wall, but he does make people "think"..... :cool:
Oh and MLF, Harper may be a twit, but at least he had the B*lls to go to Afghanistan and stay with our troops for 3 days, I didn't see Martin,Chretian or anyone else for that matter, even Bush only stayed for a couple of hours. Like it or not, I believe this little trip boosted those guy's morales by 100%, all that's bringing them down now, is the people who question there purpose (Re: Vietnam).
But then we only have to wait a year or two for the next idiot right??? :p

Hitler did what he did because he honestly felt that what he was doing was for the bettering of mankind as a whole. He wasn't trying to just cleans the world of races he didn't like, although yes he didn't like jews. His hoice of actions and beliefs were misplaced, obviously, but that won't change the fact that he always felt he was doing humanity a service. He wasn't just doing what he did to gain more power for germany, although that was a bit of a motivating factor. We really need to look at why he did what he did instead of just what he did to judge the person. And honestly if i were to go back in time and i was given the oportunity to kill hitler before anything had started would i? No i don't think i would.

Don't misunderstand me, I also want them to come home safe and sound, but they need to know that we over here, safe and sound in our nice little homes, will support them, right or wrong. It is the politicians who make these decisions to send our troops into harms way, but even if a trooper over there has doubts about his leader, they still need our support in lieu, otherwise they will become disenfranchised like the 1,000's of Vietnam War vets who came back to a country which hated them, but instead should have directed their hate at the leaders.Quote:

Lets not forget, that some of these guy's are Father's, Brother's and of course Husbands and Son's so if you direct your hate towards the current party in power, it will resonate with the troops, and that is the unfortunate obstacle, because Harper will now use them to his advantage, since time began, troops have been at the mercy of it's leaders, but this in now way should detract us from showing support to the troops regardless of the current political party... ;)
