The publisher and I had a "creative parting of the ways"
I still have the book and I intend to shop it- although I will need a new title since the original publisher owns the "for non-geeks" franchise (they have a Network Security For Non Geeks coming soon). My original concept title was "Essential Computer Security", but the publisher didn't think it was "catchy" enough.
It is on my radar, but a little back-burner because I am already involved as a contributing author on two books coming this summer and I am preparing to start a new book project as well.
I will be sure to keep you posted if I find a new publisher for my first one though.

Well, for those who were interested, but haven't been paying attention, Hacker's Challenge 3 is out. You can get it from Amazon or your local neighborhood book store.
I am a contributing author on 2 upcoming Syngress books: Winternals (Defragmentations, Recovery and Administration Field Guide) and Combating Spyware In The Enterprise .
Then, some time in July, my original book that has been back-burnered and shelved for over a year, will be published by Syngress as well.
Thanks for all of the title suggestions. In the end though, we are going with my original title. You can get more info at Amazon: Essential Computer Security (Everyone's Guide to Email, Internet and Wireless Security).
