Hi dalek ,
Our new ones make a weird sound something like ASDIC................it is quite directional and you can hear it. They have the usual siren/klaxons as well...........this is specifically to address audibility and directionality issues.
What kind of DAs do they have in Colorado, anyways?....................hell you don't get a $50 fine for "reckless indifference" :eek:
They would throw the book at him over here................."impersonating an emergency services employee"..............."interfering with safety equipment"
I guess the kit would go alongside active radar detectors and jammers...............very bad news over here ;)
//anecdote
A little while back I was shown this article from a Scottish newspaper. Apparently the Strathclyde police has been issued with these new "radar guns" so they are out with them hunting motorists.
Now there were two of them at a coastal resort where they do NATO low level training............and one of the guys pointed his "gun" at a Convair Tornado GR4 to see how fast it was going.
I was in electronic warfare and coutermeasures at the time...........apparently our stuff had detected this threat, jammed the radar set, acquired target lock, and was about to send a Maverick air to ground to sort it out..................all automatically, of course.
Fortunately for the two officers involved, the Royal Dutch Air Force pilot was on the ball, and aborted the missile launch...................yes, they do go "loaded for bear"
:D

Howdy.
In aus well in melbourne anyhow, when your coming up to a red light if you flash your high beams a few times the light's change really quickly.
i do it all the time, also it's amusing when you sit parked on a busy intersection and flash your high a few times and keep stopping traffic.
cheers

lol.....nihil they should arm those fellas with IFF transponders....."EWOP'S" hehehe get out the tinfoil hats.....
f2B...you serious about that or is it the time spent flicking the lights an illusion and you think it's fast, same as those stupid crossing light buttons, they are there to keep people amused, I doubt if they even work....(must try highbeams next time out at night)
Edit: most Joe Q's would sh*t their drawers if they knew how many military assets go around "loaded for bear"..... :p
