Well, not really.. but... regardless. Someone said it in that thread, dunno who, but it was something like JP has "sellers bitterness" or something like that. I think it's that and a bit more..

No need for a Ban, strip that Gold dot from him, and then it's up to him wether or not he wants to be a positive member around the site or not, if he wants to stir things up, then good for him.
But there is no reason why he should be able to hide behind he's immunity, he's just a regular member now.
So if he wants to stay then he'll start posting positive stuff, and not coming here everynow and again to stir the pot and leave and watch the **** hit the fan from a distance..
so with that said, i will vote Ban, as he should have he's immunity banned, not he's membership. :)
Blah, in any event.. I believe he should definitely have his gold dot status removed. I have no clue as to why he still has that, especially considering the stunts he pulls.
Maybe the contract he has with JumpM says that his gold dot stays untill so and so or whatever.....I dont really care about his threads, nobody forces up to reply to them.....
LMAO! Do you really think that in a professional buisness contract, there would be ANYTHING concerning a colored .gif image and karma status? *sigh* :(
I'd be pretty hilarious if there was, but yeah.. :D
EDIT: As I sit and watch JP view this thread, and not reply.. it just furthers my point that his lurking while watching what he has done needs to be addressed, whether it is taking away his dot or banning him.
Well you never know. He could've added that part :) it does sound stupid now that i think about it but still.....
Greetings:
I'll bet anyone my next paycheck that after the past two day ****-storm, something will come of it. I still think that there has been an awful lot of over reaction on many members parts. Yet I do see some positives that have come out of it.
Many people were able to voice how they felt regarding not just JP, but each other and the sense that there is a certain amount of injustice around AO (whether this is true or not). Yet I think everyone needs to take a deep breath, step back and realize that we are all human, and we all make mistakes from time to time, and that forgiveness is an important part of any community, whether real or virtual. It remains an important part of us a diverse group of people that things remain on the table at all times.
I think AO is what we make it for better or for worse, it is far from dead, and the JP thread proves that enough people care about it to say so.

No but there may be something about jump not being allowed to modify his status. In anycase I dont think he should be banned.Quote:

The problem isn't JP it is the people who get all hot under the collar when ever he posts. If he makes a useless post just dont answer. Take his last post for example within 24h of posting he had about 4 pages of replies.
Why not just ban the original account and let him create a new one?
That would do everything that people have suggested.
Reset his stats, let the AP system affect him, and make him "mortal" again.
I'd bet we'll see the same type of attitude from him. He'll create an account, start some sh17 and then get banned. Then he'll do it all over again in a few months to follow.\
Is JP the new Spec?
Personally, I think it's annoying. I don't think he should be banned permanently as that limits his "free speech". Just make it so everyone can also voice their opinions with an AP system he setup just for that purpose.
You can't just get rid of someone because you may not like what they have to say. You can, however, at least try to make it "fair".

Do you not remember that whole Attrition.org thing that went down? Or how about the mailbag in general? Yeah, he made a mark by stirring up ****... AO wouldn't be what it is without it though.
I don't have a problem with JPs posts, on the whole. I do have a problem with someone that isn't an active part of the site having "god" status on the boards. I think the gold dot needs to go, but a banning isn't in order as there is no /reason/ to ban him. I honestly don't think the gold will go, nor do I think JupM will ban him... that would be bad mojo if they did.
