well morganlefay....I NEVER USED THE Search within results features till now...also after reading this thread, I tried doing so ... but I couldn't find the usefulness of the results? Does that feature REALLY narrow down the search?? I ask that coz It did not narrow down FOR ME!!
I guess it depends on what you are searching for.....
For example
Usually I will search an error....then use the search within results to narrow it down to the OS.
To each his own.....works for me

Hi Morgana~ ,
I use the Google search in exactly the same way, as I, like yourself, use it for problem fixing a lot.
I don't find the traditional Boolean approach as useful, largely because people describe problems differently, even when they are the same thing.
As you well know, we rarely have enough information to do an accurate search straight off. :(
I am guessing that jockey0109 is using it from a student research approach, so I can understand him using it differently. When I am just "finding stuff out", I rarely use the search within option, but it is excellent for IT support purposes.
I would say that the people at Google know what they are doing; so that is why the feature is there?
:)

As I have said....google is my most valuable troubleshooting tools....
I have also shown my kids how to use it for researching projects....which bring me back to the point...it would be useful tool to warn them that a site may contain some kind of malware.
They are well versed in trouble shooting internet issues...such as clearing cookies, running Adaware...and reseting the router
My little mini mes :D

hi all
I heard that Windows Vista has an embedded tool for google search. The tool is available to the user thru a objectdock.
U think, that can add to the risk??
