yeah it's a ati radeon 9200 series with cabtv, so i can see tv on it, even though i don't use much my woman says keep it, It also is agp, which if at the time i knew about pci express, I would have got me a better board, I have a chaintech pt-800, two diffrent chips of ram, hopefully no probs there, memtest ran a few passes and reported no problems but who know, at the moment still no issues :)

Hi David, I am afraid that ATi don't have a very good reputation for stable drivers, which is why I asked the question. Clashing with other software and drivers is a known issue in particular situations.
It is a shame really, because they make pretty good hardware:(
This box I built about 4 years ago. It has a Radeon 7500 in it and it gave problems right from the start. I went to the ATi site and got a new driver and it worked fine after that. What annoyed me was it was a brand new card and the driver was only 4 weeks old out of the box!!!
Please let us know if you have any more problems.

happened again, i have two sticks of ram, took one out and ran the pc for awhile and the bsod happened again, switched it with the other stick of ram and noticed nothing has happened so far :) a good sign, while my stick of ram was out of the pc i noticed it looks a little funny on the pins near one of the grooves, it's ocz pc3200 3-3-3-8, it only has one groove and right beside it it looks as if two pieces of the copper pin parts are missing?? think this might be my problem> im going to run it all night to see if it blue screens again or not.

I take this back, the ram ain't missing any pins, maybe my board just doesnt support it. hmmmm

Hi David, and Merry Christmas,
I used to work for Price Waterhouse.............. the company diary had December 25th as a public holiday............. it was the only one.
JupiterMedia don't even give me a diary, so I suppose I have to be on duty today as well :D
RAM problems can be hard to sort out................ I personally believe that you should use identical strips. I would try to go for the same manufacturer, same speed............... and do watch the clock latency (CL).
I have personally got away with blue murder in this respect, but I have always accepted that the status was unstable, to say the least:eek:
If your board didn't support the RAM.............. it would scream blue murder .... believe me ;)
Try one strip at a time?

well nihil, I think it was the video after all, i've been running for around 40 minutes now after installing an old geforce mx i had laying in a box, hmmm...hope this is it, bought the card about a year ago from walmart, just wondering do you thinks it's a bad card or would it be just my system it won't work with, use to get the bluescreens alot but they became more frequent, only thing is I'm going to have to get me another card for gaming but scared to go back with ati, any suggestions
-
Glad you got it sorted out....
First thing I try with XP is video ;)
Seems lately thats what it is for me......
I have found video cards with the fans melted on them......obviously heat issues.
I am running ATI in my machine....and it has been fine for what I do...there are different graphics technologies...depends on what type of software you are running...and that softwares recommendations
How much ram in the machine??
The more ram in the machine the less it has to use other resources...
I have 1gig in my WS...and 512 in the laptop
I recommend min 1gig......

Try going here
http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php
Scroll down to the blue screen message you got (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA) and click on the link that best suits your problem (Read all the options before jumping to a conclusion) and follow the instructions on the link see if that helps.
