Well, as I see it, we have these "developing countries" who have a limited and highly skewed distribution of disposable income. Government controlled budgets are also limited.

M$ know that at least 90% of their software is pirated, so they have two choices............swim with the tide, or drown.

By providing basic software and hardware compatible solutions they now have the leverage against piracy at a local level? And, they are not providing anything that you or I would want ;)

Perhaps these countries should consider "Linspire"........... I like it :D

In fact, tomorrow is a public holiday............ I shall build another Linspire box.................or two................

I agree with MissMittens. Virtualization is something that has peaked the interest in a lot of the world lately.

My company (Emc) bought VMware some what recently and it has been a great investment for us. From what I have been reading VMware has been one of the fastest growing companies in history.

The idea behind it is you spend a decent amount of money on 1 machine that say 8 people can use. You do save money in the end.
