I actually like the new version. It presents much faster access to some of their not so common tools. I've liked google as my homepage for a while... I'll continue to use it now.
They could've added that more Tab to the old menu too......
That's odd. I still have the old menu (I am using Google UK) and it does have the "more" tab :confused:

this one is a drop down menu, we always had that More link to the side, i don't know but its annoying and doesnt look like google to me at least...
Is it just me or does it look like Google is trying even harder to push there brand name on the public? I mean think of it this way
Google Photos -> flickr
Google Orkut -> facebook/myspace
Gmail -> hotmail
Google Maps -> Mapquest
I'm not saying good or bad here. Just finding it interesting.
you missed one.
google documents & spreadsheets -> office.
I don't use Google at all nowadays unless I'm absolutely desperate. I prefer to use Ixquick because they don't store ANY of your browsing activity and cannot therefore pass such details on to whoever feels like asking for them. With Googles stance in China and their track record in the states I can't bring myself to support them by using them even though I seriously doubt anyone would be interested in my browsing activity anyway. There's a principle in there somewhere folks, :D.
