How times have changed, I was pretty young when it was taking place, so only have the vague memories. Both sides made some pretty bad moves during the troubles and a lot of innocent people got hurt, but thankfully it seems to be moving in the right direction now.

It must be hard going at the moment for you with the latest threats such as Glasgow and the recent pipe bomb in the car last week.

Hey Wolfe, I agree entirely............ I spent a few weeks in Belfast in the mid 70's. Harland & Wolf shipyard............. I said to the finance director: "by the way I am a Roman Catholic, does that matter?" I shall never forget his reply: "of course not Johnno, you are English" :eek:

There is a lot of hypocrisy here my friend?

British MP: "We will not surrender sovereignty" [ But we would get rid of it tomorrow because it is costing each British taxpayer £400 per year]

Dublin TD: "We want the 32 counties" [ not really because we would have to increase taxation by about €5,000 per head]

Belfast Unionist: "No surrender" [ But if we join with the 26 counties we would have enough TDs to hold the balance of power......... and we are politically irrelevant in Westminster]

Belfast Republican: "United Ireland" [ But we would lose our social security benefits and the Unionists would hold the balance of power]

I guess that what they say and what they mean are different?

Not that I am cynical me bucum :D
