Definitely green, especially in the wallet padding :)
Be careful though, since there is one cost that's being off-loaded onto home workers: electricity. But unless you're running a mini-datacenter in your home, it shouldn't add dramatically to your bill. Plus, it's offset by how much less gas is going into your tank and the many little workday costs that add up.
Like Ms. Mittens said, there are definitely plusses and negatives.

One of the "downsides" is marginalisation. That's where offsite workers become estranged from the corporate environment.
I have seen "desk sharing" schemes here. In this situation you work some days at home and some in the office in tandem with a co-worker. That way there is only the cost of one workspace per 2 employees and they still get to meet people and feel a part of the team.
