Turning off unneeded services not only can speed things up, it can remove risks/exposures.
I certainly don't care how long it takes to boot............... I get to work, turn on the PC and go get a coffee............. it has booted by the time I get back :D
Like CSR I am only really interested in boot times if they indicate a problem such as contention, or that there is a lot of unneeded stuff loading that will affect performance when I am using the machine.
I am afraid that I associate "tweaking" with those snake oil products of the 90's:eek:
I guess it depends on what you demand/need from your computer. I love my instant on stuff :-)
