I'm a fan of RPG's, and this is the closest video game I've found yet that resembles an RPG. Everything else (ie Final Fantasy) is more like interactive fiction.

I'll also go with the Civilization series. I haven't played the first Civ but Civ 2 was excellent and Civ3 is even more perfect. :)
I also like Deus Ex, it has got a very nice plot with conspiracies but I haven't played it for a year now. I mainly surf and IRC and if I play, I play Robot Battle (see below) or Civ3.
With shareware games Robot Battle is currently my choice #1.
Finnish SW games like are Triplane Turmoil, The Fight of the Sumo Hoppers, Mine Bombers and Wings were also top names some year(s) ago. You find all of those with Google if you want.
Blood 2, driver, Quake II,Brick attack(on cell phone), and my favorite game is trying to keep computers and networks up:)
for Half-Life - TFC > CS. TFC is just the best overall. oh yea, and as far as the Bunny-Hopping issue, i dont know what they did to CS(cause i NEVER play that, but i did hear that they newbified recent releases and made it worse than it already was), but in TFC you can still get up to about 170% of your suposed "limit" if your good enough.
Starcraft, Diablo II, Unreal Tournament. Amen.
Oh, and Final Fantasy VIII for PC.

replay value is great....3 different chars...with selectable skill sets...3 different diff levels...cool soundtrack..creepy sound effects..(esp with sb live surround....)....and scary as hell...those cyborg midwives...actually gave me chills...

Having played Warcraft 3 for a few months now I can tell you there is absolutely NO good reason to make the game fully 3D. I cannot fathom a circumstance where you can gain anything from zooming or turning the camera. Watching the runes on my Death knight's massive blade glow as he cuts down the pathetic humans is always fun though.Quote:

Good looking close-ups, that's all it's good for. I could take it or leave it.
If anyone is interested I think the beta period is winding down, all the patches recently are just shifting power back and forth between heros, there are no more glaring balance issues.
Oh, and the best game of all time, Might and Magic: Gates to another world, for the Sega Genesis. (Sadly my genesis is no longer functional, if anyone's got a ROM of that **** hook me up!)
GTA2 on the playstation 1, little old now but a damn fine game, must have spent months on that thing alltogether.

I like the traditional isometric view in Starcraft. It's simple, and it works. Strategy becomes a lot harder when you have to fiddle with the blinking camera angles just so you can pull something off.

Games... Hell, between school, work, and a social life, I don't have time for games anymore. The only games I play are with the girls, and golf every saturday. (real golf) The games I USED to play were
Goldeneye, I even beat the first board in under 12 seconds to get the invincible code. Had all the cheat codes.

Enjoy playing games while you can. It usually doesn't last very long. (especially when your working your way through college)
I know this doesn't count... but Blackmud.com is the best "game" I think. I don't like most other MUDS, but this ones great.
