Customs in the States was a joke... I had to open my suitcase in Amsterdam because there was something on the x-rays they couldn't identify... I had to walk through the metal-detector three times... (turned out it was my belt)... but in the States? "Business or pleasure? Show me your return-ticket. Thank you sir, have a nice day"... and that's what I paid the 'terrorist-tax' for???

I hate to break it to you Neg, it ain't as hot as its gonna get yet...The worst is usually late July/August...and on top of that it has been an extremely mild summer (lots of rain == low temps)...of course that depends on if you are in East or West Texas somewhat (east == humid, west == dry)...
But don't worry too much, by the end of October it should start to cool down some...maybe it will even be out of the 90's :)
Out of curiosity, which airport did you fly into when you came to the US? Some of them are a little tougher than others...

In Frederiksburg, TX (a 1860 Czech Cabin we rented), Hico (should be renamed Hick-O or something... good to known I wasn't the only redneck there.. and my red neck was only due to the sun... wait..nm), Austin (where we're going to live.. home of AMD... yay), the Broken 0 ranch where I hurt my butt riding a horse (I didn't mind... at least it *looked* like I am an excellent horse back rider), and the Nutty Brown Cafe.. and a Wal Mart truck!

We're working on the paperwork right now: I'm flying over as soon as possible again, and we'll 'have to' get married within 90 days for me being allowed to stay there. That's what we were going to do anyways, so...
All it depends on right now is the paperwork (anyone have any contacts at the embassy/INS?): Melissa has to fill in a lot of papers, then they'll send it over here for the rest of the procedure... and then I'm good to go :D
Oh, and my job might be a sucky thing, too... I'll probably have to do a 3-month period before I can leave...
Sooo... y'all (dang, I already talk like a Texan) are invited for the wedding...heh... date ain't set yet (thanks to the paperwork :/), but we'll let you know...

Well, this is the latest news from the Belgian front. Dries (Negative) is going to be here on August 27th...FOR GOOD!!! I'll pick him up at 6.00pm!! Then we still have to do all the paperwork for the BCIS....and he'll have to fly back to Belgium when they are ready for him to complete his part. We'll both be flying back over to Belgium sometime between December and February....we just can't figure out when exactly, yet....so many factors involved, well...ok, one factor - IMMIGRATION.Quote:
