I just think this thread would be better for the site in Addicts. Apart form 3 posts, all the post have been from people with addicts access.
I just don't think this is going to do the image of AO as a _serious_ security site any good. This entire thread is fuel to the fires of others who enjoy pointing out the failings of AO

I don't normally disagree with you, but I think that sometimes people that this as too much of a _serious_ security website, and worry too much about the "image". It's a website, people are going to either take it or leave it. If they leave it, they will probably go to another security site to post there...where you can still access their posts if you're a member. I'm not saying that we shouldn't attempt to at least have some kind of dignity sometimes...but let's keep in mind that this is in general chit chat, not on the main page, and kinda takes some digging to get to. By the time a perspective member gets to this point, if they are looking for serious security stuff, they should have found plenty before reaching this point, particularly with the new layout JupM just did.

The first time that i came to this site, i went everywere else but the Security Forums.
I went to Tech Humour, then GCC then had a glance at the Cosmo's Forum, then i checked out the rest of the place, fine you gotta click a few links but it's not that hard to find this Forum.
Anyhow i know that i've only been a member for a short period of time, but i've already enjoyed my stay here.
And i DO hope that this place keeps on getting better, not worser no matter how much these "Trolls" do, i think that they couldn't even put a scratch into the community here.

The comments are intersting about GCC, since this is where there are lots of 'sticky' posts trying to help out the newbies.
Perhaps we should arange to have the more salient points PMed as soon as someone becomes a memeber here?

And you bring up a good point about the sticky's here. I have always thought at "General Info" forum for the sticky's and such would be a good idea. We could put the avatar info in there, and the newbie FAQ and tuts in there...it would be a good place to have all of it, cause there are really good sticky's, but they're all spread out all over the place.
Stick that idea in Site Suggestions Debs, its good.
Oh and about AO going down due to trolls, thats comes up all the time, the place stays the same mostly with site improvements.
