You think you are really bloody clever don't you?????????
azzhole..... ;)
azzhole? No those are the one's who spit in the face at art, and also the artist who thinks their work is somehow protected by magical genies who will beat away the emotions of others. Azzholes abound on all sides. I myself prefer to be called "cornholio" :D I take back the comment about sports scores, oh wait I can't - it's recorded in NFL films for eternity! muuuhaaahhh.

 [this is real communism. Hear it from someone who experienced it first hand]Quote:
4. Our countries should all become communist; capitalism is useless it causes war. We've seen that dictatorships don't work, We've seen that monarchy's don't work, and we've seen that democracy just doesn't work. Well I suppose democracy would work if we really had democracy, however we don't. Those of you who respond to this will say communism doesn't work and point out places like China... however in the world there is no real communism, and that's the problem. I have a friend from Poland, he lives here in Canada now. Every weekend he talks to his family back home, and all they speak of is how much they want communism back, how much better things were when they had communism.
I guess you've never lived in a communist country. I also guess you never had to wake up @ 3 in the morning, waiting in line for hours to get your ration of cheese and butter, instead of going to the supermarket and buying whatever u want when u want it? I'm also guessing you've never seen anyone get arrested who possibly received capital punishment simply for speaking againts the government. Also the government would take full control of your family, cast them away if they wanted, or even arrest them too simply because of what you said. I suppose you also do not realise that if Canada and the US were communist, what you just said about the US would get you shot, since the two countries would be main trade partners? I could go on foverever to show you how communism doesn't work, but its useless, you're to thick to understand. You just speak blindly without even seeing both sides of the story, without being able to continue an argument. If the countries were communist, you wouldnt own your own house, the goverment would. No private property, no private businesses. Do you still think Communism works??? Whats running the world? Communism or Capitalism, or Socialism for that matter? Communism does NOT work.
EDIT: Just look at Russia.
Cybr1d > Communism as defined by Marx has never been tried (Gorbatsjov came closest). The happenings you are referring to are examples of Stalinism and Maoism. They are as far apart from Marxism (a term I prefer over communism, due to the negative connotations) as socialism is from capitalism. When people refer to communism these days, they are referring to the excessive forms of it.
Socialism definitely works, and has proven to work, in the form known in Europe as "democratic socialism".
Communism was an ideology, and like most ideologies, it got abused.
When Gorbatsjov went to the roots of communism with his politics of Glasnost and Perestroika, he turned Russia into a superpower. I wouldn't say that it doesn't work per se.
Wouldn't say it didn't work either, per se. Slave workers labor comes cheap and rolls the ball until lack of a progressive society cathes up. Perhaps in the future the experiment will be tried again, but it opens a door way for abuse. Even on a smaller scale, local communities that try fail. When one gives himself over to reliance on others, they control him.
Indeed it worked to keep a country running....and it defenitely develops industry and education...but would you rather have communism, or Marxism instead of capitalism or socialism? (not relating the two together). Also, in communism, the Idea of having everyone be equal is deeply flawed...because it doesn't necessarily work in a way where you take from the rich and give to the poor. The poor remain poor, and the rich become poor.....or the middle class stays middle class, by the country's defenition of middleclass at least.
I was born in Albania, and I came to the US about 6 years ago. Albania got out of communism in 1992. Now, i'm only 20 years old, but the period of time I spent in communism, wasnt really a walk in the park...and the things I mentioned in my previous post are all things that have happened....my father and mother waking up at 3 AM waiting in line just to get cheese and butter every 15 days...you don't buy them whenever you wanted...and quite frankly, i'd have capitalism anytime rather than communism. Its because of capitalism that I can reach for my dreams, and have my own business.
Aight i'm late for work...my 2 cent.
Cybr1d i hope your family is doing well here and im glad they came.

for somereason this link doesnt work but its mearly a google search for:
100 people represented world population "would own a computer"
her's the first two links:

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
At the 1999 World’s Communication Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a speaker presented some very interesting statistics about our world population. According to him, if we were to shrink the world’s population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following. There would be:
80 would live in substandard housing
50 would suffer from malnutrition
70 would be unable to read
One would have a college education
One would own a computer
Yes, only ONE would own a computer!
im sure we've all seen this before and im sure all would agree this is fairly accurate. IMO the "one world" thinkers would devide everything up amoungst everyone. lets get real basic here for a second, how would that affect us. everyone here at AO HAS to be amoung the top 10 percent of this world view. You couldn't be here otherwise.
haven't all the great advances come from the 'have' nations? what if the entire world became 'have not'. how would that affect progress in medicine science or just general education? sure everyone's life would be up to standards but those standards would be very low
;-)
capitolist: "so your saying that if you had ten thousand dollars it would be devided between all until everyone has the same amount?"
communist: "Thats right! everthing is shared equally."
capitalist: "and if you had two cars, you would give one to someone that had none?"
communist: "yes as i said before everything is shared."
capitolist: "and if you had two pair of jeans you would give one pair to someone that had none?"
communist: "definitly not!"
capitalist: "well why not?"
communist: "i only have two pair"
Hehe, I'm a nasty capitalist.... I have four pairs..... You can wear them if you like.... But only when they are dirty...... and you have to wash them before you return them..... ;)Quote:
i only have two pair
I think I'll have to write an intro to communism or something :D
Saturday night... couple beers... communist manifesto... posting on AO... can't get much better.
Way too often, communism is placed radically against capitalism ("communism = let's share everything we have with everyone"; capitalism = "let's keep it all to ourselves"). It's so wrong it ain't funny anymore :p
an intro to communism would be very good in theory but it wont explain the leftist push to redistribute the wealth, or that of the jesuits for that matter. nor will it put a better slant on 'to each, according to his needs' in my book.
You make it sound so simple Negative. ;)
Europe firms plan to move more services abroad - UN
http://in.news.yahoo.com/040614/137/2dmr4.html
SAO PAULO, Brazil (Reuters) - The practice of "offshoring", or moving service operations to other countries where costs are lower, has proved to be a success for a number of top European companies and many plan to shift more work overseas, the results of a U.N. survey showed on Monday.

how long before workers in "have" nations will have to start agreeing to take pay cuts just to keep a job while corporate profits go threw the ceiling?
