in order for me to win, you have to change from being a hard headed conservative to someone with an open mind. In order for you to win, i would have to renounce my hatred for george bush, basically. For instance, you should be neutral between moore and bush, and look at what both have to offer. Rather than pick out the few lies in moore, and side entirely with bush. I suppose that could also be what kind of person you are, a fake.
er0k - I've read through this thread and, while I respect your opinions, I also have to respectfully disagree with most of your positions.
Now, I don't mean for this to sound like a personal attack but rather take it as an observation in human mental developments. You are saying that if one percent of this movie is correct, then you will still refuse to support President Bush. If you find a loaf of moldy bread, and one percent of it is still good; do you still eat the moldy bread, or do find a new loaf? I have difficulty understanding the 1 percent concept making everything connected to it acceptable and I think that you should relook at this value system. Life is about degrees of right and wrong, which you must weigh and make decisions upon. Making your decisions based upon one piece of the jigsaw puzzle will never allow you to develop the entire picture.
It also seems that your theme here is hatred of President Bush. So I have to ask you, Why do you hate President Bush so avidly? What has President done to you personally to deserve your hatred? I will admit that I never liked President Clinton, agreed with his policies, and was disappointed and disgusted with his lack of forthrightness at times, however I never hated President Clinton. Hatred is a very pesonal, and very directed feeling, which should be quantified before being directed at an individual. Hating President Bush because you disagree with his policies is showing a very narrowminded view the basically equates to racism. If you insist on hating someone, I suggest that you save your hatred for the guy that cuts you off in traffic and subsequently totals your car due to his ineptitude.
Lastly I think that you should review your definition of close-minded. Close-minded really equates to refusing to admit error in the face of overwhelming fact. Most of Mr. Moore's film has been debunked, even though there are threads of truth in it; but everyone knows that the best lie is mostly made of truth to start with. Before anyone claims that someone is close-minded we need to look at ourselves first to make sure that we are listening to start with.
Now to move forward instead of addressing 10+ issues at once let's keep it to 1 or 2, thus keeping a more logical flow to the discussion. Not that I can't do 10+ topics at once, but time is often a factor for thoes of us who work.

The portion of Moore's film that has taken center stage in this debate is based on a flawed premise in the first place yet you eagerly defend it thus further bringing into question your critical thinking skills. The premise is that Moore asked this nations leaders if they would send their children to Iraq and then acts all surprised and indignant when they won't answer or say no. The problem is that the premise is _send_ their children to Iraq. Allow me to point out that not a single soldier, airman or sailor has been sent to Iraq. They are all volunteers. Moore's movie asks the leaders to coerce or forcibly place their children in Iraq which is at best preposterous.

Saying that if any one of those items is true it makes a BAD president, should also apply to the current presidential elections and John Kerry.
