I dont really have a favorite book but some of the ones i reread would be :
asmiov: all of his books.
Ian M banks: An english author. he does science fiction and fiction . If anyone wants to try some hard hitting, original, dark and intense science fiction he is the one to go for. I would suggest - Use of Weapons- It is not his easiest book to read but it was about the only book in years to make me go "Sh*t didn't see that coming". A good one of his fiction books is The wasp factory.
Stephen R. Donaldson the thomas coventant series.
Frank herbert - Dune.
hitch hikers guide to the galaxy.
LOTR.
Larry niven.
Jerry pournel.
Tom clancy.
Harry turtledove.
Miltons paradise lost.
The lord of the flys.
Too many books too little time.....................
I did read dan browns digital fortress. I felt like I was reading a book wrote for 14 yeaer olds. It didnt really make me want to run out and buy his other books.

It would be my most-remembered book: "Debt of Honor" by Tom Clancy. I was not surprised when 9/11 happened... obviously, the Al Qaeda got the operational concept from THAT book and actualized it.
The Isaac Asimov series, Clifford Simak's works, R. A. Heinlein and the host of SF writers (all brain-teasers and imagination-stimulants, if you will).
You might also want to look into the historical fiction "Mushashi" by Eiji Yoshikawa. Eric van Lustbader's SF and Fantasy books are also good reads.
