For those of you who really enjoy the "run through and kill every damn thing in sight" type of games, check out painkiller, it was released last year, it's a lot of fun. You can pick it up for $20 now, it's a run around and kill demon game without much of a story.

While other kids were dicking around with paint, I had a prodigy teaching me the ropes with "Windows" in the early 90's.
God, I remember playing that on my Wang PC with no sound. Until one day the next door neighbor (a prodigy, who worked for NORAD) said you need a soundcard, so I road my bike up to the grand opening of a Wal-mart and jacked some RAM, sound card, NES look-a-like joystick for PC and a candy-apple. lol * what a dumbass I was.
God, those were the days when modems first came out and we were playing online games on the BB(bulletin-Board) systems. Crude, yet they were great summer fun.

Heh I just got done playing Quake, Again, the first time I played Quake was about 3 months ago, maybe less. I'm whippin' some ass though. I think these games are actually harder than UT. I can play UT now and whip major ass when before I couldn't.
And yea I've got Hexen 1 and 2 and Heretic on here too.Wolfenstein 3D PWNS. At work I play it on my Uncle's 486. He has that and Red Spear on there. He can beat the **** out of that game on "I am eath incarnate" which doesn't look easy heh.
By the way, pre-warning, the next person who says "**** Doom" or "Doom sucks" you're going to get blasted with MY BFG 9000. If you don't like it, don't reply. Simple.

Quake 1 baby. i can do that game pretty fast on the hidden dificulty. i can still rember all the enemies and theyr locations for the first chapter.

Go to the Episode 4 entrance and jump into the water. Now backup against the wall like you were going to go back the other way. Now stay against the wall and allow yourself to fall down. You should land on a big piece of wood. Walk along the left side to find another entrance that leads a to gate thats takes you to Nightmare Difficulty.
I remmber when my cousin firs got a "grapling hook" mod for quake. you could use the axe to kinda hang yourself in any part of the wall. i used to camp in dark corners of the level and just ambush both of my cousins ... they were so pissed 'cause they couldn't find me. we played doom so much we even played quake w/ keyboard only...
all the software in my country was just cracked copies. anyone remmeber dizzy the egg or "norton comander"

I remember dizzy the egg and sequels.
I dug out a speccy emulator a while back and downloaded loads of games. Didn't take long even on a dial up.
Some of the REALLY old stuff was quite fun. School Daze, Day in the life, Tau Ceti. Someone was popping tabs to come up with that stuff.
I've got a master system and a megadrive kicking about I'll need to dig them out. I've been playing Driv3r on my X-box but it really sucks.
I haven't heard a lot of those games mentioned over in the United Kingdom. I know sometimes the names are changed but maybe they never made it over or I missed em. Need to check some out on dos box sometime.
Not to drag up an old post, but on my Birthday my Mom Ordered the first Quake and Quake 2 for me and I'm waiting for Quake 2 to get here, but I just beat Quake :) On Hard :) That is one of the hardest last levels I've played and I've played quite a few games that were supposedly hard.
Bleh i don't know if this link was posted or anything but i came across this last nite while looking for some games i can use on SuSE.
Doom Game
Anyhow i just got the Doom movie on DvD and i couldn't believe that they put the Rock in it, i mean he's a good westler but Actor come on please they could of picked someone with at least an ounce of acting skill..
And anyhow back to the game, yeah i got all the Doom Installments, i must admit that i have never tried to see through the levels as quickly as possible, i tend to take my time, enjoy the graphics and killing anything that moves..
And as far as playing it on the hardest difficulty setting, bleh i tried it and i don't last that long.. :D
