Hrmmm... I am on ADSL, and the response time is around 12 seconds before anything loads. When it starts to load, i get a max load speed of 6k a second. I am using Opera with everything on. (pics.. ect...)
While in that IRC Chat, however, JP revealed that the site is temporarily using a slower kind of database. When the new server(s) get here, he said he will be switching back to the faster one. My 14.23 cents anyway. :)
i am on a 56k dialup and it takes about 15 s for the whole page to load. i dont know if it might help or not but jp might wana change the size of the "AntiOnline.com" banner at the top. that thing takes like +3 seconds to load. it also might be because this site uses a lot of tables and nothing in tables shows up untill all of the elements in it a loaded. <-- correct me if i am wrong. as far as the speed of my computer goes, it's okay - not too fast, not to slow. just right. 466mhz.
The site is slow beCause there has been an increAse in the numBer of users that visit the site daily. I may be on cable, but the site has been sLow. But for those 56k usErs who expect it to be blazing fast, think again. It won't get faster, only slower.

someone does seriously need 2 do something about the speed on AO. I'm on Cable and by the time it finishes loading i have 2 shave again so i look presentable to everyone online. (Until I get my webcam at least!)
I would like to know the panzy that can't put there name by there antipoints. I think that person is a little scared and not big enough to face the music. On every antipoint I put out there is my name attached to it.

Well if you need to know JP changed it back to the slow database, instead of gemini which we had when it was fast. Though when the new server comes in, it should gain back its speed. The problem is not bandwith, its the time it takes these pages to generate. (This is best to my knowledge that I remember from IRC conversations.)
Antionline isnt THAT slow guys... I dont see why you all think it is.... Its not as fast as google but its faster then most forums i go to .... And complaing about it isnt going to do anything
JP is doing everything he can to run this site to the best of his abilitys....
