anyone can pose as a witness to gain entrance to a residence. if permits were freely available, as the article said, and if they were easily verifiable with a phone call, permits seem to be a good idea.
with the large number of flim-flam artistists and those who rob and rape unsuspecting people, this decision is not in the best interest of the community and IMO only hurts the wittnesses chances of reaching people. more people would be willing to listen to someone who had a verifiable permit to say it....at least where i come from.
me...most of the time ill talk with them, if they seem interesting and i don't have the time at that moment, ill make an appointment for them to come back. some broaden my view of thing others leave with their faith shaken, this is the reason they have to do it, so i don't feel too guility... most of the time.
