You all might want to check this site out also. This is the same thing that Hitler did just before WWII. I hope everyone owns property on a distant planet because no-one is going to be safe if our government continues on this path....whats it called? The New World Order?????

• Specify that an existing ban on the "advertisement" of any device that is used primarily for surreptitious electronic surveillance applies to online ads. The prohibition now covers only a "newspaper, magazine, handbill or other publication."
On a more serious note, I hope this bill dies a very nasty death. The thing is, most of these acts and bills are passed more to give a message to voters than to change anything. They're a reassurance kinda thing. The problem is that they open up new loopholes and stupid add-on clauses, when the current laws are already strong enough to be effective, given adequate enforcement. I think that Congress tends to think that you can legislate problems away, that by making enough laws that say the same thing, it will happen. The real case is that stuff only happens when those laws are enforced and subjected to real-life scrutiny, testing, evaluation, application... etc.
I agree. But I think they were just trying to make themselves sound smarter, and they were in a hurry :flush:Quote:

this is like a catch phrase or something. how is a damn mouse as dangerous as a bomb!?the only way i can see that you could harm someone with a mouse, is if you beat them over the head with it.
Big brother is watching.
It's the New Stasi......
And they'r worried about Facisim (Um spelling may be all messed) in the western world......and the new hitler is the president of the US.
Although that open for discussion, he's still acting a bit like a dictator....
Did you know the president can have war for 60 day's (or 90) without the constent of Congress, how long does it take to Launch all the Nuke's in the Us?
Well, all I'm saying is this look's like it's going down hill, and out of controle.

well naturally. this was explained in the original article by reference to harm our economy and critical infrastructure which can destroy the lives of people who pour all their time money and resources into their work. this is something i intend on doing in the near future, and if some little ass goblin destroyed my livelyhood for malicous reasons, or for no reason, sadly i'll admit that i would probably like to see that person be locked up for a long time (although i think that prison isn't the answer). BUT, and this is one hell of a but, i would prefer to lose my job, house, car and all other material posessions than have my health suffer, let alone serious bodily harm like say, losing an arm or can you imagine going blind. you can always pick your self up off your ass and start again, but not if you are blind and typing would be slower and reeeeeeeeally frustrating if you lost an arm. any 'hackers' out there don't plant bombs, or use bullets, that is what terrorists do and if they just happen to be a 'hacker' aswell, then they are labelled a terrorist.Quote:
how does TECH endanger peaple? ... Incase you haven't noticed the alot of peaple put all thier money and basicly thier lives into thier work and when its destroyed POOF all that is gone.
>>"Until we secure our cyber infrastructure, a few keystrokes and an Internet connection is all one needs to disable the economy and endanger lives,"<<wtF.
>>...when there's a threat of "serious bodily injury to any person"...
The thing with the court order is utterly ridiculous. I can't believe they're actually wanting to allow the cops to look in on what ANYBODY is doing w/o a goddamn court order! >:(
Why do we make laws over laws? Same applys to Hate crime laws? If you kill someone it is illigal, but if you kill some one because of there race it is really illigal! If you happen to do some kind of damage though hacking, the fact that you used a cpu to do it should not make a differnce. So why should there be a greater punishment reqired? Crime is crime. Motives and devices used to create these acts of crime should not determine the outcome of the penelty.
