Heheh right I did that, except some of the images are not readable at that level. Thanks for the tip though!

costumize your page setup on your printer like 11x17<---- this would be the image/ to paper custom or letter <----- This would be your print paper. lol..... i hope you can understand what i mean
I know, but the thing is not a lot of people in the general public have printers (or really the paper that is) will take that size paper. So that's why I've been sticking with the 8.5 X 11 dimentions.
I know it's a pain in the butt!! sowwie!
i wish i can show in person it would be a lot easier lol
what i saying is you can put an 11x17 image on 8x11 paper and it be readable i did it.i'm having trouble uploading images to here cause i can scan the print out that i did to show you i'll work on it when i get back i have appointment to go to right now i talk to when i get back
Heheheh, OH I get it now *smacks self* sometimes I can be a little thik headed. Please if you can upload or even just write instructions so I can follow what you mean better and make sure I understand.
Thanks a million cdkj! =)
well I've been PMing AciD for the last few days trying to thrash out a solution for him.... we seem to have hit a solution (possibly temporary but I'll explain later) so at the request of AciD I'm posting what we've been discussing in case anyone else has the same problem.....
Acid has confirmed that the image tiling over two pages isn't just an artefact on my box... it seems to work for him on his machines (after testing it a little further today on a few other boxes the solution seems to work on IE6 quite nicely). Please note that whilst this works in IE6 I'm not absolutely sure if it works in any other version of IE, Netscape, Opera, Konqueror, lynx or any other web browser. As many of you will know this is because these browsers handle CSS somewhat differently than IE6. For this reason I say that I think the solution is temporary - it depends upon if this is just going on AciD's local intranet or if its going on the 'WWW' ... obviously local intranets will be easier to standardise in terms of the web browser being used.Quote:
I think I might have made some progression with the problem! All of my webpages use XHTML and CSS.. the XHTML coding doesn't seem to make a difference... but using CSS does.. at least in IE6 (I'm currently using XP Home SP1 with all the patches incidentally)... to see what I mean have a look at
http://www.zonewalker.pwp.blueyonder...untitled3.html
and
http://www.zonewalker.pwp.blueyonder...itled3css.html
View both of the pages with the print preview and try printing something off each. You should get the result you want with the second of the above links.
The second HTML page is using a very simple inline CSS. On IE6 this appears to have the effect (at least on my machine) of tiling the image over 2 pages. Would you like to try it on your machines as I'm not sure if this will just be an artefact of my box. I'm not currently sure if this will have the same effect on anything less than IE6 mind you.
I'll leave the two pages indicated in the quote online until the end of this month (July 2003) in case anyone wishes to have a look at the source code for the CSS and non CSS versions of the page. It should be fairly obvious but if anyone wants a fuller explanation PM me or say so in this thread.
Incidentally if anyone is able to test this with a Linux browser or with Opera or another version of IE can you let me know the results cos I'd be quite interested in knowing - my current linux box is out on loan and I can't be doing with dual booting the windows box at the moment (although I may go and reinstall Opera and netscape again as I have to do some web platform testing anyway)
Cheers all :D

Yes Zonewalker has been a help to me in the coding world of the web. I wanted him to publish what he's found so far because I think he deserves a lot of credit for getting me started. Plus my boss and co-workers have access to this URL and I just want to give credit where it's due
Just to add a note to to Z's last post, I have done some testing here.
Mac OSX - IE 6, Saffari, and Netscape 6 & 7 work
Windows - IE 5.5, and 6 work, but sadly to say 5 does not... have not tested below 5 (I'm assuming they won't work)
If anyone has a *nix box they wouldn't mind testing the CSS page on, please let us know if it works or not.
But cdkj can't be forgotten, she has been helping with attacking this project at another angle! Many thanks for her work too!
So that's kind of where we are at with thie project at the moment. And at least this saves me from typing up notes later down the road to recap what we've done up to this point =)
Very grateful,
~AciD
Zonewalker great work man. Yet another reason why I think antionline is a great place.
AciD sorry I couldn't be of much help, but it's good to see your problem is temporary solved. At least you have something to work with.
Zonewalker you just gave me another reason why CSS is always good to use.
Guidance
hey cutty no biggy, I know if you could think of something you'd let me/us know anyway! But its cool... I'll catch you on IM later whenever I'm not running around with my head cut off!
Your mate...
~AciD
ahh the world of the headless chicken... how I know and loathe it so well... LOL @ AciD. :D
As I said Acid.. no problem always glad to help another AOer out where I can... and yes cdkj must also recieve some credit for the additional viewpoint - always useful!
Anyway I'm off for a smoke now and to enjoy the lightning show we are currently having.... I love lightning!
