yes... u are right. actually i'm just want to try the program with winxp. i have a linux system but i'm using "winmodem" (saving budget....). and the nmapwin cant used on local loopback. maybe i should starting a new thread.... How to connect to internet using winmodem.Quote:

you're trying to get your winmodem working in linux yeah?
A few motherboards i have bought that came with winmodems did have the driver for linux on the cd. I dont like those modems tho as a slight amount of processor usage used to cut me off!

Good luck. I've heard nothing pleasant about people trying to get these to work together. Rather than start a new thread check out www.linmodems.org (when they are up -- they may be down due to the power outage still).. :)

Get the ltmodem package from linmodems & follow the instructions - peice of cake, but you'll need to do it each time you upgrade the kernel
