Antipoints are worthless, they bear no merit on a persons abilities or substance whatsoever. No big deal really.

No grey in the beggining will get curious people like me banned very soon
I'm severely tempted to neg the crap out of him...... What a waste of disk space this whole thread was just to make some kid happy......
SITE SUGGESTION: If the thread contains the words "antipoint" or "AP" it should not appear on the front page...... Because it isn't security related.... It's someone whining about whether they feel liked/wanted/appreciated or not....
I agree. AP points are absolutly worthless
I believe that AP's are worthwhile as far as getting rid of obnoxious members goes. It's also a nice way to recognize someone's contribution to the community, though. I must point out though, that AP stands for "anti points," so to say AP Points is saying "anti points points," which is redundant.
Antipoints aren't worthless.... They are a valuable tool here to allow users to express their appreciation, or lack of it, for other members and it allows for the banning of some of the utter ****wits that we get here from time to time.
[Rant]
I do object to the time and diskspace that is constantly wasted on the subject. Invariably it is some moron whining about the fact that they managed to elicit negs for a post that, in 99% of the cases, deserved even more than were given.
Girls and boys..... If you are so thin-skinned that being disagreed with in an anonymous forum in the internet irks the **** out of you then I truly feel sorry for you. You will never "make it" in life because you are waaaay to busy "sweating the small ****" and will never recognize the important things even if they jump up and slap you in the face.
Please.... Grow the hell up or seek out other places where your insecurities are better regarded..... You will also find the people there to be of a similar intellect.... Shoe size comes to mind......
[/Rant]
Thank you for your time, you will now be returned to normal programming/whining.....
Here's my two cents on this whole thing. We should all stop whining. Including me. I shouldn't be wasting space on this thread, but I am, because I, too, was sucked in.
APs are good. They are good because they give you feed-back, which is great. I personally love getting a few APs once in awhile, because it lets me know how I'm doing, when I help people in the like. They're also good for pointing out to people when they screw up and get banned.
Honestly, I have no idea WHY he was given a rating of "Extremely Positive" for this post. It doesn't, in my mind, deserve it. We've wasted time and rewarded whining. Its one of the things on the front page: Never post a thread about APs.
This thread, if it HAD to be posted, should have gone under Site Suggestions, NOT How Do I, or What Is?
What a waste.
Edit: PS...111 Posts. Heh. "Neato".
I'm such a post whore....
Anti Points are toys to people. You get idiots who think it is the best revenge tactic.

Info Tech,
This is the 3rd post I've seen on this. Bit extreme I think?
Perhaps consider removing one or two. And perhaps consider sending a PM to this person, so as to get clarification and a better understanding. It sounds like both of you are miscommunicating, IMHO.
Personally, I approve of the points system, for precisley the reasons given by Tiger Shark and SonofGalen, they provide the writer with the feedback to encourage / dissuade? them, so that, hopefully, they do not waste their and our time with threads that have been blackballed, and to concentrate more on the threads that get people talking/writing on subjects that matter to us as a whole. In that, I am using the opening lines of the site home page that says something along the lines of 'we are here to discuss PC security and faults'. Admittidly that is a little basic, but I hope you are getting the mesage, "we" are here because we have a common interest in security and OS faults, more than the state of anyones AP quotient?
