It doesnt surprise me that the interrogations are rough, the allied forces want answers and they want them rapidly to prevent futher lose of life, its just odd photos are taken at all, maybe sovereign photos to boast about when the interrogators return home.

Interestingly enough this thread hasn't demonstrated a broad base of "outrage". I find many here to be quite "liberal" and actually expected some "negative" reaction, (I guess I got that but it wasn't as bad as I expected..... ;) ).
Seems to me that it's the media that "smell's the blood in the water" while the rest, (worldwide it seems), have a more accurate perspective on the subject......
It surprised me a little...... The intent wasn't to start a flame war, but the potential was high for one, I thought...... That's why I withheld my thoughts/comments to see where it went...... My faith in "liberals" has been restored.... even if only a little ;)
Those photos are pure bullshit, interigations are classified. You would not get anyware near an interigaion with a cammera.

and you know I think thats probably spot on Tiger - don't know about you but about 80% of people I know don't believe a word the media says anymore -especially these days when you have so many sources to get information from. I have to say I've with held the majority of my thoughts for pretty much the same reasons as you it seems. And if the media think what they have shown is torture - well that shows extreme naievety on their partQuote:

I don't find this at all to be a big deal...
First of all it never shown nor have they ever said that these peaple were beaten at all. If you look at news groups all they ever show is this stupid ass picture of a guy with wires hanging from his fingers over and over agian simply because it gets attention and "its scarey looking... like a ghost in a movie". Then it goes on to say that troops told him that if he moved he would get a shock. Oh boo hoo. Police use scare tactics everyday... most is for amusement im sure. But where are the cuts and scrapes and photos of troops causeing major harm to them?
Yeah sure there was supposably a event involveing a man being pissed on and another got a broom stick shoved up his ass. Torture? Compair all this to what would happen if an American would have been captured by some other country. Lets all take a good look at interogation methods used by countries such as... uhh I dunno lets say ("IRAQ!")
And how we so quickly forget that reports of REAL tourture involveing real harm to the bodies to those god damned rag-heads which happend well over a year now BTW. These men had actually been harmed... not pissed on or forced to pose in photos but litterally beaten the **** out of. There where pictures of them with large cuts and bruses. But because of reports of prison upriseing and because these men were pakistanie "terrorist" the whole world suddenly forgot about them. Yet now peaple are reacting to this instead because of seeing a spooky picture of a man with a black hood on like a ghost or something oh and lets not forget that these guys are Iraqies also... so this also fuels the we shouldn't have went to Iraq debate.

Specialist > I can very well understand your opinion, but take into consideration that only a little over a year ago, Bush and Blair were all over the media demanding Iraq to respect the Geneva Conventions (their message: showing POWs on TV - in whatever condition - is a breach of those conventions).
