you know maybe if we really acted ignorant we would be better off. do things the old fashoned way, you have an enemy, you defeat that nation then destroy its infrastructure so it can not be a threat to anyone again. we try to be as benign as possible and they stick it up our ass. i think we should remember that the primary objective here was to take out sadam and his power structure and be sure it wasn't replaced with another just like it. helping the country to get back on its feet would be nice...but. maybe we should really consider what they want as a nation and help them obtain that goal by putting them back into the bronze age where they really belong. and since al-quida has united all the extreamist muslem factions to wage a world wide unholy war, if were going to dance lets have at it already and quit beating around the bush.

people are people everywhere. we are no better than the arabs and no worse and we should not be expected to behave in a higher manner. could it be the fact that the west actually believes that its 'better' and a higher form of human life than the muslim nations thats the real root of the problem. that IS a weakness.

I just had another random thought cross my tired mind. It seems like we try so hard to not damage mosques, save women and children, treat priosoners humanely, etc.

It seems to me that a few hundred odd years ago, two countries were embroiled in a battle in which the civilized way to fight was stand in rows facing each other and shoot until one side lost. It wasn't until one side started picking the enemy off from behind trees that things got interesting. While the "invading" army tried to remain civilized, they got their asses blown apart...

Another fine example of history repeating itself??...just a thought.

There was a program on TV a little while ago, I forget the name of it now. But it was something like the real Bravo 2 Zero. An ex SAS guy travelled to Iraq and walked the route that was taken on that patrol. On his journey he talked to locals, that were around at the time. Cut along story short, he concluded that alot that was written by Andy McNab was fantasy, at least up untill his capture.

What happened after you will have to make your own mind up about. But the SAS debrief after he was released bears no resemblance to what was in the book.

Oh ..... please, not this!!! I saw the video in which shows it all. I've NEVER seen something so obscene. Made me sick!! Sick sick! To see this guy screaming as they cut his head with a chef type knife (The brain can live for 10 secs without air (H20))..... Prayer to Nick and his family! Geeze it gets me sick. (Side note: The family is demanding a reason for the lack of information... The police which held Nick for 13 days

Heres what I think about this whole thing.

I say we just heat iraq up to 2000 degrees and see what they say then.

After watching that video, I am apalled by the inhumane/grotesque way that these animals killed this innocent American. A beheading is the wrong word to use for this I believe. This was more of a slaughter. They used a dull knife on the poor guy, and it took 5 cuts to finally finish the job. And thsese bastards hide behind their maks, to afraid to reveal their faces.

I belie this goes to show what kind of animals we are dealing with here. Also, not sure if you heard, but today the hamass terrorist cell in jerusalem blew up a Israeli APC and then cut off a head of a soldier and used it as a soccer ball!! These terrosists are what makes me sick, and this is why we are in Iraq. We are there to kill these animals. We can't show them mercy as they will never show mercy to us.

So anyway, I think I do agree with you tedob, in that we need to compeletely take down the old structure of Iraq, Hunt down all terrorists cells (in process of doing that now), kill the terrorists then go back and re build Iraq.

Anyway, my prayers go to Nick Bergs family as this must have been an absolutely horrendous thing for them. I could never imagine what they must be going through right now.

Oh you mean the friendly local police. our friends that make you strip naked in the middle of an active office then look up your ass-hole to make sure your not armed. i remember after one conversation i had with my friends (much younger then) the black marks on the fleshy parts of my body didn't start turning purple for three days. but you know... thats life! its the people that live in ivory friggen towers that are appauled by this kind of thing. the only real crime was having unprofessions involved. im really starting to wonder though about the number of pics taken and people saying they were ordered to pose with the prisoners...

poor nick man. i remember seeing his picture when he was first captured. mat drudge had it up. he really looked like a regular guy. he was a civilian that went over there of his own accourd to help rebuild the nation. i imagine he though it might help his work record as well. then to be slaughtered like that for really no reason except to be sadistic...theres no words for it. im just glad that people are really pissed at it and i hope theres no reporters or cameras around when we catch up with those ...what ever they are

In reply to jinxy about Bravo 20, I do know what you are getting at, as it looks as if the account of what happened originally was inaccurate as reported by Andy McNab, or at least disputed by other members of the patrol.

For example there was another book written by Chris Ryan, who managed to escape to Syria.

However, he corroborates the story of what happened after the rest of the platoon was captured, presumably after talking to them, being involved in the debriefings etc.

Which isn't pleasant as it involves being forced to eat your own ****, being almost beaten to death on a daily basis etc.
And I don't think they were making up the fact that most of them required extensive medical treatment when they got back to the UK.

a few weeks ago, 3 jewish soldiers in Israel were dragged out of their cars, beaten the living **** out of them, then lined up on their knees....then shot in the head. Wait thats not all...then they were dragged around the city like a bunch of dirty dogs. Its sad that we're capable of such inhumanitites.

The way Nick was slaughtered, should seriously piss off all Americans the way 9-11 did. I know my blood is boiling. He was killed in such inhumane manner that its hard to explain. Cheyenne mentioned the dull knife...imagine, he was still alive throughout most of the cutting. Not even cattle is killed that way....they just slice their throat and once they're dead, they continue with the cutting.

They continue to hide behind Mosques and Holy places. I really believe that I'm going to die not understanding how we cannot do anything about it just because they're hiding behind mosques. They were screaming "Allah akber" during the beheading, which means "Allah is the Greatest". These people do not have respect about religion, and they're not muslim, because the Koran clearly states that taking the life of the innocent is not allowed. There is no reason why we shouldn't go into those mosques and raise hell...just fly a few Apaches around the city and hellfire the **** out of them.

Its funny how the Arab world got all offended when we showed the naked pictures of the Iraqi prisoners, but they have nothing to say about the slaughter of this kid. I'm tired of this political bullshit and how the liberals are using it to boost up their votes. Something needs to be done, and it WILL be done, its just never happens soon enough. They're animals over there, inhumane sons of bitches who do not understand kindness and peacefulness by out part. I say stop trying to fight fire with water....the only way that fire can be fought is by fire.
