Hmm...You're a little late, aks...aksh...however you say that. :-D
But, while the topic's resurrected...
Just got 4 Dell laptops with XP Pro. Asked me to register during installation, but couldn't establish an Internet connection, so I told it to wait until later. After installation, established my connect, and now....how do I register? In W2k it's simply pulling up registration in the start menu, but I see nothing of the sort anywhere in XP. I have yet to be prompted to register again either. Nor have I, at any point, been prompted for an activation key.

Go download a copy of X-Setup @ www.xteq.com and you have the ability to set registration as being done without actually registering. BTW, X-Setup is about the best tweaking utility I've found for tuning up win 2k/xp.

Dammit....just noticed how OLD this thread is....oh well, X-Setup is worth mentioning so I'll leave my post up anyway.

Mine does. Anytime I install a fresh install of xp pro on a machine it asks for activation... Maybe the corp. versions are different, but I know mine asks for it. Both of the cds I have do that after install.
