Could someone tell me why hjack got greened for this? It's shiite (not the religion)..
I'm guessing he got negged, then someone who felt sorry for him greened him, and others followed suit?
And the correct spelling is "presumptuous"

You should know by now that AP's among seniors is mostly a popularity thingy and AP's among the newbies are for excellence in answers. To anyone who has been here very long and amassed a fair amount of AP's alot of AP assignments are really just comments that the poster doesn't want to put in the thread itself.
AP's will always be given for personal reasons as long as they are here to use. The only way I can think of to have them given out for just the quality of posts, is to build a true A.I. and have it give them out. As long as humans have any control over them they will be used for personal reasons.

In case somebody was wondering how mjk got *greened* instead of negged as he asked (and probably deserved)....I did it b/c I figured this was the *only* time I'd ever be able to piss someone off by giving them greenies, lol :p
Moxnix describes my motivation for using antipoints perfectly. Especially since I don't pack much of a punch, I just consider it a way to quickly give a comment most of the time...the "positive" or "negative" just kinda reinforces how I felt about the post whenever I gave the comment.
Moxnix, I couldn't agree with you more... I'll admit that I do have a tendency to whine about APs... I guess I shouldn't care so much about it...

Oh and about the asking for negs, I just did that to see how people would react :) That's another tendency I have, to do something sort of weird and see what other people do
As for why I had recived posistive AP's for this post, it was not actually because of someone who negged me and someone else who "felt bad" assigning. The positives actually come from someone who has been a member here for a while and has easily contributed quite a lot to this forum.
As for the AP's in general.

I have been here for almost 2 years. In my 2 years I have less than 250 post. One of my comments in this thread was the fact that this was a discussion in which AP's did not belong.
MJK made some assumptions (which is kinda ironic considering the thread subject) and assigned some negatives to try to balance out the post. Well considering that your negs took less that 1/4 of the pos's assigned to me, your opinion, based on the fact the weight of AP's are measured in the amount u have required, is less than the one who assigned it.
Not to mention.
You an ass. You come into this thread, make a post about nothing to do with the subject, contribute nothing to the subject besides your immature fascination with AP's, post about it, then leave. I can see you cleary a valuable member here.
This wouldn't have bothered me much if you just had assigned AP's on my inability to double check my spelling.
All in all mjk, this post was just to tell you that your an ass and yes I could have done this through AP's (much like you) or PM's......
but just wanted to share my feelings.
