Windows 2000 network at the office.
At home, my main machine is a WinXP Home. Much to my joy, people have begun donating old machines left and right, so I've recently added a Win95 and Win98lite to my arsenal. I have a couple more machines I haven't done anything with -- one of them is going to run Redhat soon and I'm considering sticking BSD on the other one so I can learn about that. They're idle for now though, as I unfortunately have more machines than monitors to stick on them. :)

Mistaken ;). AMD XP 3000+, which doesn't equal 3.0Ghz.

I usually change the OS on this once every 2 weeks Currently has FreeBsd on it.

Heh heh, they're all crap though, but crap is better than nothing. :) The corporation I work for is cleaning things out, plus a friend's family has been giving away their old machines. Fortunately for me, they figure if the CD drive doesn't work, the whole computer is bad, and off it goes! :D
I always imagined that folks here would be at the 'cutting edge' when it came to their computers. So, it's a nice suprise to see so much variation out there.
Me, one box, Win2k Pro, 512 ram, use it for everything, have been fixing friends old systems up for a while, and keep dropping the hint. When you upgrade, can I have the old box ?
Last box repaired was an OLD P2 333, 64 ram W98. REAL slow, serial mouse..........

Get yourself a serial mouse.................you can plug them in when the system is on, and they are allways recognised. Not so with PS2...............and USB does not happen in safe mode :)
Your man with the PII/333 needs more RAM...............the machine is quite adequate, but it does need more RAM .........try crucial and use their memory finding tool..............it is slow because it lacks resource.
Also, defrag the bloody thing!
He needs 256 or 384Mb to run smooth and fast...................I run this PII/266/128/WinME because I am an obstinate b*****D, and I know how................sometimes I use one of the ones on the other side of the room (PIII/533/512Mb/Win98SE) and 1900XP+/1024Mb/WinXPpro
Only thirty feet, but I am too stubborn to swap.............cos then I would go upstairs, and bring something from the lab or the workshop :eek:

I got most of my boxes from work.
Old 1. ++ ghz boxes they didn't want anymore so I took them.
Total I have like 12 computers but only 8 or 9 are running.
Dude cheyenne1212 send me the other ones! I'm sure I can find some use for them :) I kept changing distros on my laptop in the last week like crazy tring to find the 'right one' and all, the thing is there are a bunch that attract me... I'm going to make time and build a sorry-ass computer from whatever parts I have lying around and install some oldschool Linux on it :)
But wow! WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING on those boxes? :)
