distortion of the truth or downright lie...who cares! it was a good movie and thank you all for making it
alright, cause of this post, i had to watch swordfish today cause i didn't remember it very well... i realized that all it really seems to be is mental masturbation (for lack of a better phrase) for all those computer people (notice i didn't say geek ;))
You are all wrong.
The film was loosely (Very Loosely) based round my life.
I regularly get kidnapped (Usually just asked by friends) and get made go to nightclubs.
I regularly crack 128 bit passwords while being blown. (Usually by desktop fan.)
And the 30 seconds thing isn't a problem because it was located on the local laptop therefor isn't it possible I just looked for the AUT file while at the console and cut and paste the password into the box.
As far as I am aware, he bruteforces the password. But I believe he basically bruteforces it himself (or that's what it looks like). But hey, if james bond can go through all the fights he gets into, etc. and not have any bruises, the guy in swordfish can do whatever the hell he wants. To be honest, it was a good film, but not for the computerness of it. It all just seemed a bit too fake. But then again, if they made it realistic, the majority of people would not want to watch it.
