I think your problem though, Neg, is that the store is barely visible. Had I not seen the thread about it, I would've never known it was there, simply because I rarely pay attention to any text on the page beyond the actual forum content (I suspect this is the case with most).

However, I bet if you slapped an image of the t-shirt on the front page somewhere, THAT would grab some more attention.

I have to agree with you on this, I never knew the store existed until I saw the thread. I also just purchased a new home, I too am too broke to buy anything right now. I do want to buy some of those goodies myself. I have shown them to my wife and my son and told them what I want for Christmas. :D

Maybe put an ad on the main page in the rotation of ads already there to advertise the store a bit more.

So what have we learned so far?

1. Most of the posters in this thread have no lives as witnessed by the fact that they are all so broke they can't afford a T shirt but, please note, they all maintain their internet access.... Can anyone say "Geeks"???? ;)

2. No-one, including myself, even knew that you could buy AO stuff.

Ok, that aside.... Hoss is usually sharp with the pre-planning etc. but I have to fault him here.... What he proposes basically says that the hard work etc. required, (ok, it could be post whoring too....), to get the benefit of a free T shirt can also be bought by any Tom, Dick or Harry for $10.95 + shipping, (or whatever)..... I dunno, I think that kinda takes the special feeling away when you meet Dick at a party wearing the same outfit as you.... :eek:

Yeah, but Dick's $10.95 + shipping poorer than you, and given your point #1, that's a big deal. :D

For a number of years I was vice president of a local football club............we had ties and stuff that had "VP" or "Vice President" on them................you could not buy those in the fan club shop :D

I guess what my point was is that whats the point of a "reward" that _anyone_ can buy.... Since a "proper reward" would be limited to so few people it really wouldn't be good advertising... would it... ;) But don't get me wrong... I had my computers and internet, (well, ok, BBS access), even when the possibility of food came more from my skill as a survival instructor then as a gainfully employed individual since the choice was one or the other.... :(

Nihil: I already proved to myself in another "venture" that sales/marketing are definitely on my list of "things I really suck at".... <LOL>. The fact still remains that with only 2 T shirts sold the special "benefit" of some "gizzit' here on AO really doesn't promote AO in the way JupM would find attractive... not to mention cost effective.....

That's 4c total so far..... Who should I be billing for this?
