yeah .. some virus or spyware must be there in the systems which could have broken the LSP chain in your systems. So you need to disable the spying services inside ur system and then try upgrading.
What is the best way to do that then.. restart in safe mode with networking in administrator's login and then start the upgrade and patching whatsoever. It will take too much time to upgrade in this mode... but hope that it would work
