Whoever had owned it for 20 years. It was old as hell, if he has to pay something every month might as well let him finally use it... Insurance is a scam. Someone as old as you has to know this by now, you pay insurance for something that MAY happen and when it does they raise your rates.

You answered your own question but lets start from the begining. I grew up in Grand Rapids and Jenison Michigan. Great state its where I got my love for camping... I cant recall ever coming across a 120 degree summer day. let alone at night which is when your pop incident took place. Now back to your point... you could have probably gotten free water from Denny's (water quenches thirst), could have gone home and gotten water, and as you stated you live on the East Coast of Michigan.. Correct me if I am wrong but there is a BIG ass lake there. Albeit probably not the cleanest thing in the world but it could be Lake Erie instead...

It goes passed 100 degrees here in Summer. I pointed out multiple times I was no where near home. Dennys at the time charged for water. And before you say it, the sink was gross.

gore you can go days without drinking water, if you were thirsty and had no money how about WAITING next time? And lets also remember that pop/coke/soda is one of the worst things to drink as a thirst quencher.

gore: honestly i could care less about you stealing. what you do is your business as long as it doesn't affect me. You kept asking for other choices and i gave you the best one, waiting. Honestly though i find it very hard to believe that salt water will do that to a pop machine. Now i am not calling you a liar since i have not the technical knowledge of pop machines or one to try this on, yet, but it just doesn't seem to fit. Most pop machines have a ramp with holes in the bottom from small to big so as the coins roll down the chute they fall into the corresponding hole. Now salt water is an ionic compound and therefore will conduct electricity. HOWEVER the resistance in metal wires is much much less than that of saltwater, making it act more like a resistor than a conductor. This rules out the posability of you conneting contacts somewhere inside the machine fooling it into thinking you put in money. Now you also said that "cans started puring out". . . . this is highly suspect. Once the machine has enough money in it it waits for the button press to cycle the belts inside of it letting out one can at a time. Lets also remember that if you put in 1 dollar into a 50 cent pop machine, you dont get two pops you get one pop and change. This rules out the possablilty that you tricked the machine into thinking it had money in it also, for it would pause after each can and spit out change. Now that leaves about the only other possablility, that the water fried something in the machine causeing it to malfunction and spit them out. . . .sorry if taht happened you would only have gotten a can or two tops before the machine completly fried itself and shut down completely. Therefore i truly believe that you made this story up just to fit into the conversation.
