there are some that will stop playback when it's in a webpage
so check the privacy and security pages too

I added this to my last post but you may not have seen it:

If this doesnt help can you post exactly what Firewall, AV, pop up blocker and all the rest of it, please.
Preferably in more than 5 words!
yes i did all that. I'm kind of giving up on this, I might just have to pay up. I have to go shopping now. I appreciate more advice on this please. I do not wanna give up. I REFUSE to give up. By the way , I also tried redownloading the player, and that didn't work either.
OK, have you tried right clicking the file and select "save as" and save it to your harddrive. Then see if you can play the file locally?

I can't save the file because it won't let me pull it up to play it.
Norton NAtivirus, earthlink pop up.
Can you give me the URL of a file you are tying to play?
An old WMP troubleshooting tecnique you can try is to type mplayer2.exe in to your run prompt. Then when WMP 6.4 starts up go to > File > Open and the type the URL of the file into the field - see if this plays the file for you.
//Just to clarify (as I am running out of ideas) You have diabled Norton (the whole thing F/W, AV etc) and your pop up blocker and any other applications of a similar nature and then tried to view the web video?
i go to Yahoo.com and then click on music. Then just click on whatever video you want to watch.
I tried the run thing. It would not find the file
Yes, i did all the firewall and pop up stuff.
You can try going here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...&qstechnology= and downloading the latest MS codecs. You can even re-install WMP here if you want to. Personally I would try it if the alternative is to spend £50!
I just tried to d/l a music file from Yahoo and got the error message saying there is a problem with the site, please try again later.
ok i'll try that. I'll let you know how it turns out. I gotta go for now, but i would appreciate more help from you if at all possible.
fatcat4444,
If you can't post your specs ( computer specifications ) and itemize ( list ) the problems you are having and exactly how and when they are occuring you are just wasting everyone's time...right now it's like shooting in the dark.
Nokia and foxyloxley has asked you repeatedly for this information...
it would be nice if you can provide it in a single coherent ( understandable ) post.
Eg ;)
