You do raise an interesting question though. Over here, there are actually quite a lot of females in the IT profession, it would depend on your industrial sector, but I would guess it at 40% plus.
Hey, even I have had three female bosses in my life...............and I am not talking about the three I have married ;)
My observations have been that medicine and veterinary are pretty equal. Accountancy, law and broking are male enclaves, engineering is largely male, and that IT, dentistry, opthalmy, and architecture are probably heading for a balance.
That is a UK viewpoint of course.
