Blackhole, if I may make an observation, you've been playing too much Deus Ex.
As for the rest of this One World Gov't, how many people here have read the Left Behind series?
In one way that you choose to read the Bible (I realize that many people do not subscribe to Bible prophecy, but IMHO) it states that there will not be a one-world government until the Antichrist unites the countries. If you hear anything about a seven-year treaty with Israel, it's time to be afraid.

Although in the end it is inevitable, I think it will be a long time coming before we have strong world government which people respect and are not afraid of. Look at the continent of Africa. Many people ask why Africa isn't one country instead of dozens. The problem is that there are not enough common interests to unite them into one country. Sure, they could function as a confederacy (united, but with a weak central govenment) but there would certainly be civil war. Apply this theorum to a global scale, and it is easy to see why a world government would not function well any time soon. Countries must first develop similar interests and work with each other as separate entities before any move toward a world government can take place.
P.S.: cwyk9--Bill Gate$ already owns the world, and there's nothing we can do about it... ;)
