If your into religion then you might want to check out the bible. Somewhere it says that all countries that were once invaded by rome "IN OTHER WORDS MOST OF EUROPE", a mark will emerge by "THE BEAST" and another man. These cards are already spreading all through Europe called Euro dallors. Im not saying the end is near and blah... blah... All im saying is would you want to be scanned and then judged due to what a card says?
Im not really into the whole god thing but crap.... I dunno about you guys but I WILL NOT be branded by I.D.CARDS and this will only make things worse because

Well I have nothing to hide and IF people we're going to be judged due to the card wouldn't that lower crime and other illegal activity? But I don't think that this card would be a way of judging people, it would be a way for people to share information when needed.
As a sKID I have I might have done some stupid sKID things. But as a man I grow & change into something better as I watch what my new life brings.
I once had a friend who trained for boarder patrol...in other words GANG STUFF. Anyways He was a great cop for years and when he went into boarder patrol they did a background check on him and he was fired just for some small stuff he did as a kid. The whole point of going under cover is to make the bad guys beleave you are one of them and then go checkout stuff than normal cops couldn't, yet what a better way to do this then a ex-hoodlem turned cop. But nooooo he didn't get the job and the police force just lost possably the only cool cop there. This is what happends when other peaple judge a good man before knowing 'em. :(
I agree with those who are against the card. It does seem that the government is going haywire with this "national security" thing. Let me ask a question. If they are so concerned with national security, then why don't they start by taking out the flow of narcotics? We are more endangered from the inside, rotting away from the disease of drugs, then we are from overseas actions. Yes, we were attacked. I say nuke the bast****. If you screw with us, we will rock your world. You kill 5000+ of our innocent, we will retaliate with 10,000 of yours. I guarantee if we did this, we wouldn't have problems. However, we sit around with our thumbs up our buts and let the rest of the world laugh their arses off at us. I am a red-blooded american who loves his country, but i don't want to see our government punish us, the citizens, for someone elses screwup. Thats what is happening when they impose more strict "anti-terrorist" security on us. We lose our rights. We end up giving them up for a false sense of security from a beauracracy that wouldn't know trouble until it slaps them in the face. Why must we let others baby-sit us? Was this country founded by people who wanted to be baby-sat? No, by giving up our freedoms, we are betraying our founding fathers and all those who died to keep us free. OK, now i've ranted and raved. Im not a lunatic, just someone who doesn't want to see our land go to hell in a handbasket

Again I agree with you 100% but how would a simple National I.D card be taking away our freedom, we have an SS# and a driver's license, what's another simple card to you??Quote:

You said it yourself... Y do we need it when we have drivers licences. Oh and its not just another simple card... It has CREDIT, MEDICAL, BACKGROUND HISTORY, & it probably has alot of stuff in it. I mean its one thing to have this info scattered through documents & sometimes even the on .NET but !!THIS!!....... And another thing is you don't really have much choice in the matter because once the card hit $DOLLARS$ become obsolite.
Another thing is.... its not even about security. I mean this has been slowly going on years before 9/11.
I hate the idea of a card that basicly tells society what im worth to everyone else. I am "NOT" cattle waiting to be marked, sized, wieghed, & awaiting to be examined.

the constitution's going down the tubes, intellegent transportation systems tracking our movements, "free trade" now meaning that you have to, every aspect of your life open to government scrutiny, and national id cards are yet another a good idea?
Ok, I've already said my piece so this will be short. According to xmaddness then our government and our military are terrorrist organizations. What is the difference between the Al Queda blowing up a building to get America to meet it's demands, and America blowing up a building where terrorists are 'expected' to be. The main problem I have with the card is that it serves no cause, as it is we don't even know that hospitals or doctors can access our medical information. I can see no use for this, except as an attempt to invade american citizens privacy.

2. No, not due to the card, but the card could be used as a tool to identify those that they need to oppress.
3. The card has medical information, but who can access it hasn't been made public. As it is doctors usually have your med. info. on file. And if you know much about first aid, it doesn't take medical information to treat someone who's unconcious.

Now x-madness, it says nowhere in the description here that this is multiple offenses. This list could include only one crime and the list would be concidered previous. In fact it is impossible for a record to be kept for crimes that are currently happening. And don't worry no insult taken.

now, like they have said before, this is suposedly to "combat terrorism", but exactly WHAT makes you a terrorist? does not having a credit card make you suspect for terrorism? do certian subscriptions to magazines make you a suspected terrorist?
you see, all they can do is profile people who they think might be terrorists based on some stupid statistics, and if that means that I am going to have to go through some legal BS because i subscribe to X magazine and buy Y-brand fish sticks, then i will resist it.
infact, i'm going to go on record right now as saying if they pass such a law in the US i will not carry the card or submit information to it. i just wont do it.
