I am starting to wonder how many people actually read my post. I think Makahall (sorry about the spelling, I am to lazy to look it up) was one of the only people that did. Otherwise, there would have been NO antipoint assignments for this entire thread. Yeah, it is a discussion and people will agree and disagree with what I said, but it has NO TECHNICAL meaning, therefore should not have any antipoints assigned.
I think a lot of those that did read it didn't pay any attention either. My post was not against the antipoint system. The system is good. The point is that people don't know how to use it. Use it the way it was made. I have seen people get banned by it that should be banned. That proves that it can work. The problem is that it gets used the other way also, and people get a lot of points for things that don't deserve them.. Sorry Deb, I am going to use you for an example, but you will understand. Ok, someone comes to this site looking for help. They see Deb on the top10 list. They are going to assume that she has a lot of knowledge about computers. But how much does she really know about computers? Ask her yourself sometime, and she will admit that she doesn't know much. Now I am not trying to say anything bad about her... As a matter of fact she knows more then a lot of people here, considering she is A+ certified, and was working on her MCSE untill some **** happend, but in her mind, she doesn't know a lot.
As far as IRC... you don't see a lot of computer talk in there. Most of the regulars there spend ALLLLL day working on computers. So the entire topic is not going to be about computers. But when you come in and ask a question, it normally gets answered. Even though we do goof around a lot in there... It makes it fun sometimes. Go to #dc on effnet. Or #phrack. Those are also computer channels. You will see even less computer discussion in those places normally.
And for my job... wish me luck. I am going to a job fair in a couple hours... We will see what happens.... And Thanks to everyone that said congrats. btw... Tedob1... depends on how much time I spend looking for a job. Most of my posting was while I was at work :)

so anyway, i'm not kissing ass or anything. ('specially if its leather-clad) but congrats on the post number. tis an amazing thing and a lot of time dedicated to making the site a better place to learn, et. al.

as for antipoints, i have said to others, as long as i'm not about to be banned, it really doesnt matter to me. sure, i get more points for opinions than for trying to help people, but i am fine with that. maybe the elders are jaded (lol) and since they really cannot gain or lose that many more, it becomes less meaningful? there has been a lot of talk lately about the degredation of AO and i suppose... since i joined there have been silly, serious, pleading, condemning threads. and you can expect to see that anywhere. although, i have made a few friends here, incl you, souleman (and i'm a pretty antisocial person typically). i feel i have made some decent contributions and probably made a few people angry at times. but that is all part of being in a large community of intellectuals.

souleman well done for over 2000 posts i havent been with Ao for more than a month but i know that things have gotten a lot worse but Ao is still decent
