If you have an 'aftertast' from 'champagne', then you're probably not drinking champagne, but sparkling wine... Champagne is a registered trademark. This is often circumvented by putting 'Méthode Champagnoise' on the label, though... the difference between the two is as big as the difference between Coca-Cola and errr... Mecca Cola :/
Vodka indeed is a nice way to get drunk... it's the purest of all alcoholic beverages, and therefore "should" be the safest...
well try 2/3 bottle champagne topped up with absinthe..... tastes bloody disgusting but gets you so piss drunk you won't be able to taste it after a glass - you might also have major trouble with your eyesight after enough of it as well - but by god it's something to treasure :DQuote:

Neg you have obviously never had everclear. some where around 200 proof (just below) it is almost pure alcohal, anything stronger would make you go blind. That stuff will mess you up. Not that there is any thing wrong with drinking vodka (as long as its quality) I prefer chopan or gordans (yes I said gordans) private lable (black lable, made in russia as opposed to the US, probably the number 1 or 2 vodka in the world. Scary when you consider gordans red label is such crap.)
nightfall: try a better quality champaing/sparkiling wine. That will get rid of the aftertast.

bahh a proper dry martine dose not invole vodka
shake some vermouth over ice and then pour out the vermouth add ginn to the ice and shake, and pour into glass, garnish with an olive.
