a nice set of quotes from a rather diverse set of people shoing there personal and private fellings on religion (or for the cynics out there, hey a lot of polititions exploiting religion to get the vote of the fundies) , now show me something official from the goverment that states we are a nation founded on christian ideals, I have posted a document that definatlystates otherwise.

It seems what Washington states at one point contradicts what he wrote/says at another... I'm not entirely too sure what to think on that one. :what:
Perhaps someone with a greater knowlege of all this can explain further. Still, you saw the quotes i presented, and they speak for themselves. It's pretty clear how they felt about God in our countries future.
I want to hear more from other members so can put this all together. I know what i believe, but i want to see all the information just for future purposes and for factual reasons.

Lol, Maybe I went a little over the top with "Gays not being an enemy of faithâ My general thoughts of this thread somehow surfaced those comments. Not directed at anyone person but at everyone for consideration.
Having gone back and re-read the entire thing. I can agree with frustration over people preaching tolerance, they shove it upon the masses in huge doses, just like radical Christian groups do. I agree, and I am frustrated with some of them, because I have found that a few are actually LESS tolerant of personal beliefs and choices then those they are actively targeting. I find them hypocrites, in fact - they LOSE my respect. Just as any group that preaches a specific guideline or choice and does not consider alternative opinions valid.
Hey I never preached tolerence, I preach freedom and yes I am very intolerent of any one who tries to take away "freedom to" that is waht this country is based on.
As for GW, well he could tell the diference between personal feelings and waht was important for public institutions, that is why his statements contradict, he personaly beleived in a christian god, he as a presidant didn't.
You fundies need to open your eyes, as soon as you let the govermental buracracy promote a religion, it will try to exploit religion as a tool for control (see the pledge in the 50's) . It is not a one way transfer religion in goverment = goverment in religion and eventualy goverment control of religion.

Come on this is like back in the very late 90s when black peaple stormed a few entertainment companies in protest that shows with stereotypes like sapranoes had ethnic groups but TV needed more black folks to be stereotyped as "stupid and poor" peaple.
That skinhead is stupid... all he is basicly saying is that TV needs more white peaple to be stereotyped as "upper-classed and rather dumb" instead of being stereotyped as "rich gay peaple". Its funny but its real stupid.
Yet at the same time the fags and dykes have no reason to try and protest and push themselves into the media cause MTV and other channels are flooded with them already like black peaple are with sports. And they shouldn't get so angry at every rap song that comes along cause thats no better than what that skinhead was doing. And they shouldn't get so angry when peaple puke at the sight of them makeing out... for many peaple it can't be helped... its a natural reaction.
