Both sides have good and bad points.
Yes, Kazaa is illegal. You can take a groups whole album, burn it on a cd, and listen to it without paying a dime. This may not be "illegal" per say, But it is wrong. And the whole thing about it is only sharing. You cant get introuble for sharing cuz it is like letting someone use your cd, I think that is a bunch of bs. You are not letting someone use your cd. You are letting anyone and everyone use your cd. That is like 10000 people vs one person 'borrowing' your cd.
Like I said, there are two sides. This crap about the artists not getting the money they desirve from the music they make. That is also a bunch of crap. Have you seen the houses most of these artists live in. I dont think they are really in need of money. Sharing music can also have a positice effect on a artists, not just losing money. It can also help them become noticed. Kazaa and programs like it help small, local bands get recongized.
I use Kazaa, and I really dont care what the courts decide. I keep my song downloading to a min. Right now I have a total of 16 songs on my PC. And even if the government tired to totally get rid of P2P sharring, I dont think they could.
And to comment on what you said nihil, not everyone lives in the US, so the Constitution of the Unitied States of America doesnt apply to all.

Epison07, you raise some valid points, allthough i have to disagree with your views on
how much money certain artists have. If it wasn't for them producing a decent song/album,
recieving radio air play and becoming popular and have people buy their cd's, they wouldn't
have anything, no nice houses or cars, just bills like everyone else.
Why would i go to kazaa, download a new album that i heard on free to air radio that i liked ,
get the entire album for free, then go pay for it? won't happen, doesn't happen!
Record sales have dropped three years running.Why?

TidaLphasE23 you know why some people will still pay for the album? Well if you have used kazaa you would know that it can be a pain to get an entire album and when you do get it most times some of the sounds were not converted right. If you are just a normal music listener and don't appreciate quality then that would be just fine for you but most people are not. So for them to get a nice noise free version they go buy the CD after previewing which is what many users use kazaa for. I would agree a lot of people just download the music and don't buy it but the real question is would they have bought it anyway? I am sure they would not have.

That's the real issue here. CD sales didn't drop because of kazaa. It would be closer to the truth to say the development of portable MP3 players dropped CD sales, because people hardly ever download hold albums. People download the sounds they like from various artists and create their play list.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it TidaLphasE23. So when you think about record sale drops think about all the other things that have lead to the cause and don't blame it on kazaa. File sharing has been around forever, kazaa just made it easier.
