Why do you have to bring up Clinton's blow-job? As if it's comparable to ****ing WAR and LIES and PERJURY that Bush has done. Where are the WMD? They didn't exist. The war was created BECAUSE the good ol' Texas boys believe they can bully the entire world. Thank god for China, otherwise Bush/Rummy/Chayne/Ashcroft will split the global Pie between Wallmart & Citicorp in the name of Jesus. Soon we all be working in wheat fields w/ mandatory morning prayers if we won't get rid of these ppl. And don't even get me started on cheesy over-the-top GWB's Top Gun photo-op. I agree with you Tony B. The patriot act scares me. But at the same time I want the government to be able to get at terrorists and spies without years and months of red tape. We were visiously attacked and brought into a war. You can argue semantics of what when where and how it happend, but it happened and the patriot act was inacted. Does it give the government too broad of a leash, yep. As I have stated I think it was quickly enacted and there can be opportunity for abuse. But at the same time there is some congressional oversight and I would bet that hacker has been poking around in DOD computers somewhere. I am very outspoken here for the Bill of Rights and Due Process, but just because some criminal claims his rights are being violated, doesn't mean I believe it. I believe the government is on his ass for a reason. Not just because they decided to bully someone.

But again- Clinton being a poor exuse for a President does nothing to excuse the current administration. It isn't a matter of "my president is not as big a dick as your president". The President needs to look good in and of himself. The administration should stand up to scrutiny - not only to being compared to an even more pathetic administration. Saying that Clinton was worse doesn't make Bush good or his actions and policies even remotely right.

As for the Kurds- lets not tell them that we supplied the weapons used against them either. I can't verify that directly- but we have a habit of creating Frankensteins we can't control. We supported, trained, funded and supplied Noriega- then had to go to war with him. We supported, trained, funded and supplied Hussein- then had to go to war with him. We supported, trained, funded and supplied Bin Laden- then had to go to war with him. It seems like we might solve a lot of our problems if we would stop funding, supporting, training and supplying regimes when it is convenient or fits our agenda of the day only to turn around and have to fight against our new "friends" who are using our own supplies, training and funding against us.

I think there is some merit to funding those indivuduals when it happened.

We funded Osama Bin Laden to fight the soviet union when they were systematically invading countries on their south eastern realm.

We funded Saddam to stabalize certain factions in the Middle East especially aggression by radical Muslim powers in Iran.

Noriega the same thing, you could argue we did it in the name of democracy or greed if you believe that. In each case though, the written doctrine was to build and support a deomocratic society and end repression. Unofrtunaly in each case the dictators placed in power were either corrupted or already corrupt. You could argue that WE were betrayed because the promised revolution each one preached never flowered.

I understand the logic behind why we supported them at the time- it was a sort of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". But, eventually when the enemy is gone the enemy of your enemy is not your friend anymore.

It made sense at the time, but everything you pointed out, when looked at in retrospect would seem to suggest that it was not a wise choice. Perhaps in the future we should give more serious consideration to the implications and repurcussions of supporting certain regimes just because it helps us againsta different enemy. Given the intended goals that you illustrated and the final outcome of those partnerships I would say that this strategy has failed.

Tiger shark...great you have shown us that clinton was abad president who liked sex.....how dose taht make bush better? clinton didn't force bush to sign the patriot act, he didn't force him to lie about WMD's to go to war with iraq, he didn't force him to set up secrate tribunals and suspend our right to trial by peers and no illegal search and sezure. Clinton didn't force bush to suspend our right to be innocent untill proven guilty. These ar e all bushis doing and they have nothing to do with the previous administrations. Are we any more secure as a nation with all of these rights suspended, well conventional wisdom says no, the tragady of 9/11 is being abused to strip us of our freedom.

It took pretty long ****ing time for the peacekeeping forces to go to Yugoslavia. No one cared in Bush Sr. administration when Serbs proceeded w/ their genocide of muslims. The whole eastern Europe was scared shitless and no one cared. But I admit that's the fault of UN as a whole. But somhow the whole Bush family is hung up on one country w/ some of the ritches depositories of oil in the world ("After all that's the guy who tried to kill my dad") they attack Iraq, pretty much against the will of the whole world w/ support of England and Spain (who the **** cares about Spain) ignoring the massive demonstrations all over the world and @ home. IT CANNOT BE MORE OBVIOUS THAN THIS. You say "poor Bush" gettin caught up in this post 9/11 world just trying to do his best." Bullshit! Reporters are getting through w/ weapons onto the airplanes but instead of securing USA, Bush decides to wage war agains Iraq. This is the PERFECT opportunity for all these religious terrorists (I'm talking Bush & Inc) To sieze control of this Country and imprison its citizens bans and ridiculous religion based laws.

estruscan, I think you cite a good example of why Bush Jr. may not have waited for UN approval and took matters into his own hands. Do you really think no one in this country cared for Yugoloslavia? It was UN and government red tape that postponed and then severely handicapped peace keeping missions there. The same stuff I here now about the war in Iraq, along with the same critisism. US Miitary force were under UN control and some were court marshaled for failure to work under UN commanders. I can remember all kinds of outcries in this country when we did decide to go becaue people wanted to blast Bush Sr. in any way possible. Let's not forget still lingering tensions with mother Russia as well... but we care, at least some of us. There are atrocities happening all over this planet right NOW. I think that if any entity could be everyplace at once, then it could be done - given resources and support but it can't be.

It is because of the actions of the previous administration that the current administration has the need or the opportunity, (read whichever you wish), to erode your rights.

As for "demonstrations across the whole world".... <sigh> The last time I looked the USA is a sovereign nation that is self governed as opposed to a sham country with a puppet government put in place by the United Nations. Do you really think that the USA will allow itself to be governed by world public opinion????? If you do then it is clear that the rest of the world condoned Saddam's activities, (torture, mass killings, support of terrorism, etc, etc, etc.), and that includes you...... How can I say that? Simple, if world public opinion were allowed to sway the governments of the world then you didn't demonstrate hard enough against Saddam - Thus, by your failure to properly demonstrate against him you gave your tacit support to him...... Thus you are as bad as he is.......
