it doesn't start with 169 does it? If it doesn't, then thats good, and it most likely means that the problems on their end. So call them up and ask them whats going on.
Nope no 169...
Now, for the LAST TIME; CALL COMCAST!Quote:
Im NOT replying again, call comcast or Im going to choke you!
He said there was no 169 gore. So that means that the DHCP is assigning him an IP.
well I've done all I can do.
Call comcast.
I finally called comcast and they fixed it. In my Network Connection my Internet protocol address was set on a specific address instead of an automatic one.
Now I thought you told me it was assigned by DHCP? Which is the same thing has having it assigned automatically.
Its not the same thing...
Cheyenne1212, That IP is a network IP, Woulden't do any difference to hack it, lol. as for the cable modem check the connections, reset the modem and let it rest for a few minutes then reconnect... I have the same problume with it sometimes. I also Have Comcast.
Let me clear this up for you, You have to be misunderstanding me.
SInc he is using broadband, he's probably using an ethernet cable run between his modem and his comp. That ethernet cable is plugged into his NIC In Network Connections, The NIC is the LAN Connection. Therfore, right clicking Local Area connection would bring up his properties for his cable connection to see if his IP was set to automatic or if it was manually configured.
