I Didnt start this thread to make fun of them but to make fun of Tech for saying that and let's face it, their site is a joke, and the admin is a bigger joke for posting such bullshit that he posts. I know that some of you feel otherwise, but hey it's my opinion.
Personally, I get great amusement out of the whole thing... and to those who say that's "immature" or "beneath me" or whatever, I say live a little, you probably find it funny too, and just don't want to admit it - just because this is the best security forum in existance doesn't mean we have to act superior to everyone else.
If it drives a newbie away from the boards, fine - I don't want anyone without a bit of a sense of humour around here anyway ;)

I gotta agree with SSJVegeta-Sei - newbies reading this thread even without knowing the bvackground should be able to see that we are just having some fun :)
these guys are idiots - they deserve to be ribbed a little...if only for the fact that 90% of the tutorials on their site are c&p'd from elsewhere (and when i pointed this out they banned me - lol) and most of them are copied from right here at AO! (isn't that right rioter? ;))
I say we are well within our rights to _browse_ the site to see if all c&p tuts have been removed and to keep browsing site (making offline copies if so needed) until this has been done. It is not our fault that their bandwith per month is only 100 mega bites (yes that is the way it is spelt on their hosts site >_<)

It's not that I am not trying to offend anyone. But the point that I'm basically trying to make is that by visiting their site. It is something that I am pretty sure that they want . You may be asking why ? Well lets see they give you an account you point out their flaws. They ban you make fun of you and end-up getting under your skin. So you come back here and decide to post it and tell everyone else how lame they are etc etc.....
But in the end: What are the benefits of doing this ?
All you are really doing is mirroring what they are..... I am pretty sure you can think of something .....
Offline copies , you mean like using wget in a cron job to make sure that you have the latest version of the site each and everyday maybe twice in case something new gets posted. I may just do that.Quote:

twice in a day?? but its such an active forum - better to get it to fetch a new copy everytime it finishes the last - cause the time taken to download there is bound to have been new things added

Well.. let's see. The board members first joined on the 24th of Dec so I'd say technically (unless they upgrade), it's be about two weeks. :D
Man. Talk about a silly "DoS" side-effect happening because people were visiting their site.
awww we gotta wait 2 weeks :(
I think next time tho we'll prolly have 29days 23hrs and 45mins to wait ;)
