Hate to say it but saying there was a spelling mistake sounds a bit lame to me. you think they would use a bit more than just the name to identify people on their no fly list. Just think if there was a terrorist called john Smith flagged on their no fly list. That would cause serious problems for a big chunk of the male english population.

Do a google or google news search on cat stevens and salamin rushdi. I guess in his defense what he said was that he supported the fatwa call for rushdis head but urged muslims to fallow the laws of the country they lived in...so it was only a conditional call for rushdis head, all because rushdi dared to question islam in a book...ya that real tolerant and peace loving.

As for the spelling error, isn't that how they grabed ted kennedy, someone who was consperice minded may start thinking this data base may not b compleatly on the up and up

Cat did indeed say that the call for Salman Rusdie's head was justified:
However; he tried to justify / qualify it by adding that he was studying Islam at the time, and that according to the teachings that it was acceptable to declare 'fatwah' on a blasphemer ..............
I read Salmans book, The Satanic Verses, well, someone had to ........
And I found it to be boring in the extreme. But maybe that is because I'm not highly educated ?
Still don't see the connection with crap sentence to death sentence. [did you see what I did there ........ ]
And I've just seen Salman Rushdies latest book out now:
Bhudda: You fat Bastard. :D
