Why ppl come to Antionline ?

For me it's boredom, which I have to be pretty bored to be browsing Cosmos now...but then who can complain, it's the internet.

For me it's simple...I'm a member of 5 computer forums because I want to learn as much as I can in the least amount of time possible.
I'm over fourty on my way to fifty and didn't even have a computer until about six mths ago, I've got two young daughters who are using computers in SK and grade one.
I didn't have the advantage of computer training in school so these forums serve as my teachers and I do consider myself as a student.
Sometimes I ask stupid questions or questions that someone with some training would assume to be obvious...but nothing is obvious when you start out from nothing. And I find the people at these forums tend to be less critical of stupid questions.
I became a member of this forum because I had a security question and this seemed to be the best place to ask a security question. Now that I'm in the door I'll look around and check out the threads and see if I can find my way around to sticking around.
I think most people come to these forums initially because they have a question...then they decide how long they are going to stay.
Every forum I belong to has the same problem...they have thousands of members, thousands of guests browsing, yet less than fifty members which can be considered active and fewer than twenty members who can confidently and skillfully answer questions. Because most people just browse or post then leave and you don't see them again until they need your help.
I may not be much help in answering questions right now but I do plan on sticking around. :D

like some one above said it is all about the people and the help they can do , i was help out of a lot of fixs by MSmitten,undertaker,gore ,swordfish,nihil roadcllosed tigershark and many more .....its a place to get the most correct answers to your problems and that too the fastest..
like nihil said a swim from bombay to newyork is a big one and so AO provides a gr8 way to ease the differences

Roadclosed and Nihil did ye get the pints of guinness i sent fresh from ST James Gate brewry. I sent them by the way of the north pole to make sure they were properly cooled when they arrived. Just hope thoese bleeding santa elves didnt intercept them... :p
