From my experience, no and yes... perhaps yours was different. The entire HS district I was in was poor when it came to cafeteria food... You could have pizza every day if you wanted to. There was only 1 spot with a somewhat healthy meal, where they provided you with a complete plate. Everything else was crap. So yeah, you could bring your own lunch, but who wants to do that ;)Quote:
2. We are taught proper nutrition, but capitalism demands we buy certain products, ie unhealthy food products that are tasty.
It's amazing how much pop people drink. Cut out pop from your lifestyle completely, and you'll wonder why you drank it in the first place. You lose the taste for it. I lost mine freshman year of HS. Pop and chips are easily cut out of a diet/ lifestyle.
Don't count ANYTHING... it makes everything boring. Don't even look at a scale, it's worthless. I've never had weight problems, but I was a thrower on a track team and obviously I had a lot of big friends, so I can relate...without actually relating? :D
Don't take weight pills, don't do diets, just change everything and keep it that way. It takes a lot of discipline but it can be done.
Advice to anyone still in High School...
Take advantage of sports and gym class. If you can exchange your gym class for time in a school weight room, do it and don't sit around. If you can join a sport without tryouts, go for it.
I bench one zillion trillion pounds
It's fun to talk about lifting, but you gotta remember this is the internet.
It'll be a COLD ****ing day in hell I stop drinking Mountain Dew. I don't eat chips.
Wanna hear something funny?
I don't drink pop, caffeine, alcohol, I don't eat candy, don't do drugs. Nobody really ever told me not to either. I'm just weird like that. I don't really look for any of the above throughout the day, so I guess I just don't value any of it.
I don't drink alcohol much. It's been over a year now. I do Opiates every day. I drink Pop every day. Ummmm, the caffiene part. Do you consider Chocolate candy? (Some cultures don't) there is a bit of caffiene in it.
Two, does it bother you at all that even after all that you're still going to die anyway?
I edited, I do eat chocolate sorta often. I don't practice that lifestyle to avoid death, I do it because I don't need any of it to function normally and happily. I just started cutting things out for athletic reasons, then I stopped feeling like I needed them.
Death is only scary if you fear that you won't accomplish what you want, at least IMO.
About the chocolate/caffeine thing... it's not nearly as much as you will find in any soft drink, and I don't maintain an gung ho attitude that demands that I fend off what I listed above (I.E. if I eat this I have to run an extra 10 miles!)
I just make choices that don't include them. If you can live your life without having to worry about what you are eating (counting cals, special diets, yadda yadda abtronic) then thats a success right there.
I just realized the irony my handle and this conversation creates.
You JUST realised ..................:DQuote:

I was about to mention it when.................
I drink LOTS of water.
And I drink almost anything alcoholic, I don't get desperate enough to try those cocktails though. For me brown bitter IS a cocktail :D [UK joke] [OLD joke]
Its not just soda that has all that sugar and calories. Everything has High Fructose Corn Syrup in it today... juices, soda, energy drinks...
