I'm not quite sure why you wouln't make it in? If it's a private non public school all they usually want is tuition. But I'm sure you'll make it in. Just make sure you apply to your states school of math and science as well. Every state has one or a few schools for the gifted. My sister went to a school of math and science. Like early live in college.
Btw: I found some book links for you, some are basic. Don't worry about the math you'll get there.
(Really basic, 8th grade basic.)
