I thought I was smarter than others and that I was soooo good that laws shouldn't apply to me etc. Fortunately, I was smart enough not to be breaking them in any significant way - just in case, (like the gunslinger parody - there is always a faster gun then you), so I never got caught doing anything that might totally **** up my life. Learn that if nothing else....

...and don't attack service people who do their job when it doesn't fit you political views. It's simply not fair or reasonable... and makes you look silly.....

Hey Road, I can honestly say that I never violated this one. Now if you raise the age of consent to 18.....weeeeelllll, I would have to say that I am guilty. You know, when I applied for my security clearance in the military, I was asked "Have you fathered any children out of wedlock?" Talk about a loaded question. I had to dutifully answer "Not to my knowledge!" Wait I'm really digressing here....back on topic......I would hold the 16 year old responsible yes, because that is the law. The 15 year old will probably be the female and hopefully she didn't end up pregnant. Although it seems that is how we find out about the majority of statuatory rape cases. I'm sure that children are educated about their local statuatory rape laws during their sex education classes at school from the 6th grade on..right? In my opinion we should bring back the chastity belt, and don't think that I have not thought about making my daughters wear one. :)

My Grandpa was a vet, he was in WW2. I have his sword, so don't make me come down there and kick your ass. Something I'm looking forward to is the wholew fact of you gettin old and eventually, you're going to need meds for a long list of things elderly people need.

But you live not to far so don't worry, when you're laying there in a lot of pain and you need drugs I of course am going to be there, not just to steal your bottles but to watch you finally see that these are about as dangerouse as water.

And as for attacking... If I stopped what would happen here? It would be boring. Don't act like I don't make you laugh. You know what I'd love to do?

There was a 9 year old girl where I grew up who got preg, but being young she couldn't hold the abby, her body couldn't handle it or something, I don't remember it was a long time ago, but she was 9 years old ****ing people....

Here is a little bedtime story for Gore as told to me by a Canadian lady I once worked with:

Apparently the Mounties (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) had found a large field of cannabis in the mountains close to the US border, and set fire to it, late one afternoon. Now, one of the micrometeorological features of mountains is that you tend to get a descending airflow from them in the later part of the day...............

As for sex, the age of consent over here is 16. We also have free confidential contraception. There are special clinics for it so you don't have to see your family doctor. The same goes for sexually transmitted diseases.

That happened in my town a few times. the cops would just set the thing on fire and friends of mine had a party in the woods. Heh, so everyone got high free thanks to the police who didn't know my friends were in the woods having a party. Which was cool because they were already stoned so if they got caught they could say "I was in the woods and all of a sudden there was a big fire and the smoke smelled funny and now I feel odd." ;)

We really should just legalize mary jane. Or at least legalize the private cultivation of the stuff. "Grow it at home keep it at home." Hey that could be my political jump point???

It may surprise you, but you can actually get a licence to commercially grow cannabis over here. Our Dunlop Committee (sort of equivalent to your FDA?) are looking at its pharmaceutical properties. You used to be able to get it from your chemist (pharmacy) as a remedy for a variety of ailments.

Gore is absolutely correct on this one, it does have medicinal qualities. It is a crying shame that it was made illegal, after all there are many people around today who must be very happy that opiate abuse did not result in Morphine Sulphate BP being banned :cool:

Another weird thing is that I can grow opium poppies in my garden, and a coca bush in my dining room................but if I were to grow cannabis without a license............................ :eek:

I personally believe that cannabis must be legalised, at least at the ethical pharmaceutical level, because it is a substance with medicinal properties that have foolishly been ignored because it was considered an abuse substance. We are way behind the pace on this one folks, and people are suffering as a result.

On a personal note, my comments are based on my time working in the ethical pharmaceutical industry, and I am desperately allergic to cannabis :D

As nihil said the age of concent here is 16. If there was a 15 yr old girl caught with a 16 yr old boy the police would probably get involved but if both were concenting I doubt anyone would be charged.

As for hookers and the military I've got a few friends in the services and nobbing hookers while overseas seems to be the done thing. Pretty much a non event.

One of my better mates did a 6 month tour on a Type 21 Frigate and went down to Brazil. Out side the Docs room they usually have sea sickness tablets until they land at a foreign port when the bucket gets filled with condoms.

He serves on a Trident Sub now. One of the Seamen brought crabs onto the boat. The whole sub got them, captain and all.

I can't see any argument against legalising cannabis for genuine medicinal purposes especially for the terminally ill.

Here in the USA, that gets you busted as well. Trust me ;) I have a couple thousand Poppy seeds (Papaver Somniferum) and they rock and they are pretty and you can go to a market and buy a bunch of them, Papaver Somniferum is the one that tastes good and produces Morphine which is why it shows up in a piss test if you eat them.

They tried to make some that did not contain Morphine but they taste like ass.

If I worked there...

There does seem to be a predudice against cannabis. It think that this is partly from the problems that the pharmaceutical companies have had at isolating active ingredients from cannibis plants.

Drugs like cocaine and amphetamine can be purified down to very specifiv active chemicals and used with a great deal of precision. Their actions right down to the level cell transport proteins is very well known.

It hasn't works like that for cannabis. They have isolated what the believe the active chemicals are, the cannabinoids (I think), but when they have tried to use these in they found they just didn't work as well as people who simply smoked weed.

If you could get cannabis working in the form of a tablet made by Glaxo they'd be handing them out like sweets. The powers that be just dont like the idea of people smoking a weed that makes them feel better. It's not controlled, it's not understood and god damn it there's no profit for the big Pharaceutical companies.

My GF gran has started smoking dope to get some relife from her arthritis. She's 86 and has controlled cancer as well. She has to get it from her neighbour who buys it from a dealer. She really shouldn't have to do that. What is the harm in a 86 year old having a puff if it gives her relife. Even if it is a placebo effect she should still get some.
