me, personally, i've never read an hp book

for those who have, are they good? and in what way(adventure, science fiction, etc)

i tend to only read bad "Stephen King-like" books and classics.
thinkin of expanding my reading genre.

In the UK he was going to secondary school, which would make him 11 or only just 12. That is exactly my point...................if you still believe in goblins and dragons (notwithstanding the Kimodo Dragon) at that age, you won't make it to much in the way of a secondary school, and if you do, reading certainly won't be your forte? I sincerely doubt if you would be at risk. And if you make it to a better school then you are bright enough to know what fiction is, so again you are not at risk?

Now, if I were to give you a book by Alastair Crowley :eek: .................you would toss it to one side in a few minutes..................way to complex and convoluted.............but he was a real satanist.

Someone mentioned The Chronicles Of Narnia........................well, who believes in talking lions who is capable of understanding the tenets of any major religion?.............at that stage you still believe in the Tooth Fairy?

For a better comparison to Rowlings, try Terry Pratchett...............now he IS fun, and could not seriously be accused of "obfuscating" the difference between good and evil.

Rowling is more than a millionairess, she reached a billionaireess status last year. And as for the audience... over half of Potter readers... half now... are over 30!!! According to my local newspaper.

Don't believe all the jealousy crap in the media................the films were not brilliant, and did not do that well................the acting and effects are "B-Movie" crap..........she will not have madfe that much.............anyways, how many go to the movies these days?...........a billion is 1,000,000,000 using American notation? spread that over 10 years and it is 100,000,000.............errrr no way Hose!

Last I saw she was worth around 40-50 million GBP..............which is one hell of an achievement, but believe me the days of billionaire through legitimate enterprise have long since gone :(

And NO!, I am not her tax accountant...................she couldn't afford me :p :D

Do the expressions "Banco Ambrosia" and " P2" mean anything to anyone here..........like the president or whatever of the Vatican Bankers: Banco Ambrosia being found hanging under a London bridge (hell of a way to commit suicide in my opinion?) For "P2" do a search within results for "freemasons"...............errrrr Cardinal Renzini said years ago that a Roman Catholic who joined the freemasons was instantly excommunicated?

The movies have grossed over 1 billion US. Not bad, they aren't perfect but I like them. That last one was especially good. Call me biased. :D

I have read several articles stating Ms. Rowling in the billionaire category. That would be around 500 million pounds right? Here is an article from the UK. Rich Woman

As for the Divinci Code. I really don't know much about the history presented in it. SPOILER!!! I was merely talking about the plot. In modern terms of the book contents. Priests sanctioned by the vatican running around killing people within a secret US based society to get at the master key to unlock a valuable content. I totally like the book and I can see why the church would be against it. ;) Even though its fiction the author often presents it as historical fact. But that aside, it's just good reading friend.

Spyder ~ Go to a bookstore tomorrow night. Any bookstore. You will get an idea of how many people age 16+ read these books. And you'll bow at 70%, because it's at least that many. I will be there at 10 pm, waiting for my midnight release. :) (Got out of dressing up as Hermione though thank god!)
